Words of Welcome The Peace

The peace of the Lord be with you. And also with you.

Call to Worship Christ is risen. It's still Easter! Alleluia! Risen Christ, you come to us, hidden and unrecognized, and you bless us. It's still Easter! Alleluia! We greet you with awe and wonder. It's still Easter! Alleluia! You give us your gifts, and feed us. It's still Easter! Alleluia! We welcome you with gratitude and joy. It's still Easter! Alleluia! You give us the spirit of your peace, and call us to love. It's still Easter! Alleluia! adapted from Steve Garnaas-Holmes

Hymn

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling

UMH #384

Prayer of Confession Risen Christ, the world hated and rejected you. You responded with grace, humility, and welcome. The proud questioned your power, planned your death. You responded with peace, forgiveness, and new life. You ask us all: Do you love me? Forgive us, God of abundant love. We think of ourselves as better than others, we are selfish, we take advantage, we hurt one another. And you ask us all: Do you love me? Forgive us, God of abundant love. Make us like you, God. May we say "Yes" with our words, our actions, our thoughts, and our attitudes when you ask us all: Do you love me? Forgive us, God of abundant love. silence for prayer

Words of Assurance Loving Jesus, we scoop up your grace, your mercy, your forgiveness like they are the greatest catch of fish. We jump out of the boat and swim quickly just to see you up close. Keep asking us all: Do you love me? And tell us in response once again: in my name you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen. adapted from Prayer of Confession and Pardon for Easter © 2022 Lisa Ann Moss Degrenia, www.revlisad.com

Sacrament of Holy Communion The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. . . . And so with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. . . . . On the night in which he gave himself up for us, he took bread, gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: “Take, eat, this is my body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” When the supper was over, he took the cup, gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said: “Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” . . . And so in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. . . . Through your son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy church, all honor is yours, almighty God, now and forever, Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Prayer After Receiving Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
