Prayer of Confession We imagine our lives are beautiful music, perfectly pitched, joining together in graceful harmony. Yet our love is flat, our anger often sharp. Let us confess how hard it is to keep God's life-giving melody moving through our lives.
God of all people, we struggle to trust that your grace and love are really unconditional, are really for us, are really for me. We give you our shame. We give you our shame. We give you ourselves. {pause while we move our hands out in front, palms up.} Fill us with your courage. Fill us with your joy. Jesus, we struggle to love and accept others the way you taught us to. We give you our selfishness. We give you our selfishness. We give you ourselves. {pause while we move our hands out in front, palms up.} Fill us with your courage. Fill us with your joy. Holy Spirit, we struggle to work for justice. We struggle to go where you send us, into the hurting places in our world. We give you our fear. We give you our fear. We give you ourselves. {pause while we move our hands out in front, palms up.} Fill us with your courage. Fill us with your joy. silence for prayer
Words of Assurance Listen to the beautiful good news: God said God's creation is very good! Jesus Christ is risen! And the Holy Spirit has come! We ask God to continue to {hands out and open} fill us with courage. Fill us with joy. In the name of Jesus Christ we are forgiven! {hands out and open} In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen.

Sacrament of Holy Communion The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. . . . And so with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. . . . . On the night in which he gave himself up for us, he took bread, gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: “Take, eat, this is my body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” When the supper was over, he took the cup, gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said: “Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” . . . And so in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. . . . Through your son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy church, all honor is yours, almighty God, now and forever, Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kin-dom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for yours is the kin-dom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Prayer After Receiving Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

To contribute to this special offering, click here and designate HomeFront in the comment field. You may also drop your gift in the offering plate or mail it to PUMC, 7 Vandeventer Ave, Princeton, NJ, 08542.
