ANNOUNCEMENTS SAFE SANCTUARY TRAINING TODAY This afternoon, from 11:30 am–2 pm, we will be having our annual Safe Sanctuary Training for all PUMC and KUMC volunteers! There will be a hybrid option, but we ask all those who are able and willing to come in person to do so. See Happenings for the Zoom link. FALL KICKOFF SUNDAY, SEPT. 11 Mark your calendars for Fall Kickoff! More details coming soon. CONTRIBUTE TO OUR STRATEGIC VISION

As we develop a framework for our strategic vision, we need your help! In order to live into our stated vision, what will change? Who will the change reach? What will we need to invest to make that change? What services will we create? How will we measure the change? Please reach out with submissions or questions to office@princetonumc.org or emeliatimpo@hotmail.com.

Call to Worship adapted from Eliza Buchakjian-Tweedy Our welcoming God calls us to hospitality; to give as generously to others as God has given to us. For there are angels among us. Our loving God calls us to give God glory in the compassion we show to one another. To love without judgment of ourselves or of others. We gather as one Body, seeking to walk in the way Jesus walks ahead of us. We gather as one Body to worship the one who is Love. Hymn

TO RESPOND IN FAITH

TFWS #2126

Prayer of Confession adapted from Cláudio Carvalhaes Sometimes our confessions are more about speaking our hopes and desires for something other than what currently is. It's about confessing our need, putting words to the ways we want to live, but can't do on our own. Hear us as we pray together: God of all people, Let the utopia of the gospel become real in our community. Let us be the table that receives all ethnic groups, races, languages, cultures, bodies, and families. Let us be the banquet that receives those who have been excluded, dismissed, overlooked, so we may all be invited to sit down and share with Jesus. Let us be the place of protection, place of peace, of food, of fostering, of family, spaces of refuge and care. Let us be a place without borders, without stigmas, without xenophobia, without homophobia, without racism, without machismo. Let us be a place for everyone. silence for prayer SHARING IN WORSHIP TODAY

Words of Assurance This is the good news: we are made new in God's grace. We are forgiven, welcomed, embraced by God, who continues to shape us into God's people In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen.

Prayers of the People The Lord's Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Offertory
