2023 Kensington ‘Holiday at Home’ Memorial Day Parade.

“Kindness in Kensington” was the theme of the 41st annual Kensington Memorial Day Parade that proceeded down Marlborough Ave. in the historic San Diego neighborhood. A pancake breakfast held at the Kensington Community Church and the Dale Larabee Miracle Mile Relay race preceded the event. There was a generous crowd of spectators estimated at 1,500 and widespread participation for the event that honors and re - members those of the nation’s military who perished.

Margo Kasch, a Kensington resident since the age of 5, was this year’s Grand Marshal. Margo’s commitment and contributions to the community truly exemplify the “Kindness in Kensington” theme of this year’s parade.

The parade included participants from a wide variety of organizations – spanning both young and old. The parade commenced with the 40+ member Hoover High School Jr. ROTC Color Guard and Drill Team presentation. The crowd enjoyed music along the parade route as the Canyon Hills High School Marching Band went through. A splendid time was had by all.

Parade Director and Kensington resident John Jensen reminds us it is important that we honor local service members who gave their lives for our nation.
