F L IGHT OF FA NC Y Some birds are not meant to be caged, their feathers are just too bright. Keeping up with my fascination with nature. The collection is titled ‘‘Flight of Fancy’’ which could mean one’s flight of freedom. The collection is a reflection of myself , my own ambition of flying high. The collection takes inspiration from Colibri or Hummingbird, the bird flaps it wings 50 times per second. ‘‘Flight of fancy’’ collection is based on robotic birds and the entire range is made from 22 Karat rose gold with diamond setting. The range also makes use of white enamel. It aims to target young women in their 30s.

I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think.

P AT OLA HAND LO O M The origins of the Patola can be traced back to Gujarat’s Solanki royal family who invited weavers from Jalna, now in the state of Maharashtra to settle in Patan and explore the full potential of the weave construction. On a Patola, the square represents security in every aspect of life. The elephant, parrot, peacock and kalash (metal pot) are considered saubhagya& (good luck). Symmetry from leaves and flowers formed the understated classic human aesthetic. Traditional patterns have also seen a lot of tributaries of experimental patterns emerging out of them.

N OU R COLLEC TI O N Inspired by Arabian fairytales and Moroccon architecture, I created a collection that is a reflection of the rich cultural heritage of Morocco. The designs of the ‘Nour collection’ exalt a mystic alllure and feminine charm coupled with a pinch of magic. The collection draws inspiration from the sophisticated zellige tilework and arches carved into walls of buildings and monuments all over Morocco. The collection pays homage to the fairytales we all grew up listening to; taking us on a journey inside the palaces of our dreams. It is a story of style, passion and confidence, but above all, the story of a woman. Blessed with a majestic aura, the modern day queen doesn’t need royal atrributes to express her magnetic personality. Her allure and generosity radiate in her timeless jewellery, the most refined expression of her feminism.

Forecast Research: Artisanal Precision - Kinship SS18 Look to the precision of ancient arts and crafts such as calligraphy, mosiac work, inlay and stained glass to inspire hypnotic repeat designs and graphics, intricate artwork.

R ETRO FU TU R I S T Creating a product always starts with some form of inspiration but one doesn’t always need to travel the world to find inspiration and the inspiration for this collection came from the lighting inside a store, A starburst inspired Chandelier. The futuristic look of the lighting inspired me to create my designs using this theme. The target consumer is versatile and open minded. A woman who loves high fashion, is artistic and free spirited with a badass streak. The collection is developed for the festive season. A detailed study of the upcoming trends was done. The final products will be manufactured in mixed metal- copper and gunmental with gold plating, and studded with black and yellow Swarovski crystals.

N ILOU FE R Water lily is a timeless symbol of beauty and eternity. As a symbol in Indian culture and mythology , the water lily is found throughout the hindu scriptures. Water lily is also known as “Niloufer”, after which the collection has been named. It blooms during the night and looks most mysterious against a dark background. This was the key source for my inspiration. “Niloufer’’ is a rare black enamel collection enhanced with gold, polki and south sea pearls.

A classic statement neckpiece exploring the traditional Indian jewellery making techniques such as Jadau and kundan meena.

Contemporary style of pendants with polki settings and black meenakari designed for the young women.

A classic choker neckpiece ( left), a finger ring ( top right) and a bangle ( bottom right) ; all with black kundan meenakari work, set with polki and enhanced with south sea pearls. All three using the same motifs.

A modern jhumka ( top) and a Chandbali (bottom) as part of the range.

A minimal and opulent collar neckpiece set with polkis in black meenakari gives a modern take to traditional craftsmanship.

thank you.
