TESTED: Dual dome AI camera that monitors two views

For more information: www.hanwha-security.eu The PNM-C7083RVD AI camera is designed to monitor two different areas with two different fields of view, making it ideal for monitoring staircases or elevators, looking around corners and securing two adjacent areas such as check-in desks.

The two-in-one camera features deeplearning based object detection and classification. The PNM-C7083RVD has two 2MP cameras at 30fps with an IR viewable length of 25m, is NDAA compliant and features next-level cybersecurity with TPM 2.0 and is FIPS 140-2 certified.

Performance

The two 1/2.8” sensor cameras give very clear 2MP images that can be oriented to suit a range of locations with the ‘Hallway’ mode being particularly useful for capturing narrow walkways in two directions. Various resolutions from 1920 x 1080 down to 320 x 240 pixels are available in 13 steps. The camera modules can be independently manually panned from 0 to 355°, tilted through 0 to 78°, and rotated 0 to 180°. Focus and zoom are motorised and set through the browser or app. The lenses are 3-6mm varifocal giving a wide field of view of 107° (H) x 57° (V) to tele 56.3° (H) x 31.5° (V).

Up to five lines of 17 characters text can be placed on screen plus time and date in all main formats. Five NTP options are given or a preferred address can be entered.

A range of settings for extending the dynamic range of the camera (120dB quoted) for backlit scenes maintain contrast range and reduce image noise.

Up to six privacy zones and up to eight motion detection zones can be allocated. The IR emitters are mounted at the edges of the assembly and can be controlled to suit the wall or ceiling mounting arrangement in order to minimise image flare.

The AI detection capabilities are impressive with selectable Person, Face, Vehicle, and Licence plate categories. The vehicle type can be selected from Car, Truck, Bicycle, Bus, and Motorcycle. Each type can be added or omitted from the selection to suit. In testing the system differentiated well between vehicle types and could capture cyclists and pedestrians whilst ignoring vehicle traffic if required.

If events are recorded to the SD card or a local NAS, they can be replayed within the browser with a straightforward transport control and twenty four hour event timeline. Up to 32 detection rules if used can be filtered for replay.
