“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” ɬ (SILY[ ,PUZ[LPU We love this quote. Why not? We’re in the imagination business, right? We love helping young people imagine through education, summer camps and fabulous arts experiences. We love helping our friends and neighbors imagine through the joy of theater, music, dance and art. We love helping to imagine a greater Schenectady and a greater Capital Region by working with our neighbors, our peers, the folks at theREP and at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga. But the coming attractions—those are the big reward! Thousands of successful young people. Vibrant downtowns. Interconnected and successful cultural organizations throughout the region. So many of the coming attractions we have all imagined OH]L [\YULK PU[V Z\JO [LYYPÄJ ISVJRI\Z[LYZ We thank you for imagining with us in the many ways you do: from dining and volunteering with us, to donating, coming to our hundreds of events and supporting us in countless other ways. Join us in imagining the coming attractions and in making them into full-length, fullfeatured, fully-activated realities! Share our plan: imagination at Proctors is on the rise! Join us!

We’ve heard that over and over since our grandfather opened our doors in 1919. We’ve put a lot of people into a lot of cars, building one of the region’s largest dealerships – and an enviable reputation – in the process. For over 90 years, we’ve worked to deliver quality vehicles, service and repairs, all fairly priced. And we know that we’ve succeeded when we hear those three beautiful words: “Thanks, Mr. Haraden. We’re proud to continue our family’s commitment.

WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE? At the time of this printing, Proctors has nearly 18,000 Facebook friends. Our Facebook page is a living room couch where we sit, snuggied up with our theatergoers, theater fans, their families, real life friends and co-workers. It is there that we share entertainment news and trivia, views, insider information on shows, both upcoming or in the house already. Special deals, date reminders, contests with great prizes, beautiful photos and videos. Add to that our Twitter feed, which has much of the same but with the added bonus of being a fly on the theater wallpaper at shows, in dressing rooms and in the meetings and special events that make us special. So come and join us won’t you?

(with Francine and John Pascal) Mack & Mabel, The Grand Tour and 42nd Street (with Mark Bramble), Harrigan and Hart, I Love My Wife and the lyrics for Barnum. JERRY HERMAN (Music & Lyrics) Raised in Jersey City by musically inclined parents, Herman learned to play piano at an early age, and the three frequently attended Broadway musicals. At the age of 17, Herman was introduced to Frank Loesser who, after hearing material he had written, urged him to continue composing. He attended the University of Miami, which has one of the nations most avant garde theater departments.
After graduating, Herman moved to New York. In 1960, Herman made his Broadway debut with the revue From A to Z, which featured contributions from newcomers Woody Allen and Fred Ebb as well. That same year producer Gerard Oestreicher asked if he would be interested in composing the score for a show about the founding of the state of Israel. The result was his first full-fledged Broadway musical, Milk and Honey. In 1964, producer David Merrick united Herman with Carol Channing for a project that was to become one of his most successful, Hello, Dolly! The original production ran for 2,844 performances, the longest running musical for its time, and was later revived three times. Hello, Dolly! swept the Tony Awards that season, winning 10, a record that remained unbroke for 37 years. In 1966, Herman’s next musical was the smash hit Maime starring Angela Lansbury. Although not commercial successes, Dear World (1969), Mack & Mabel (1974) and The Grand Tour (1979) are noted for their fascinating concepts and their melodic, memorable scores. Herman considers Mack & Mable his personal favorite score and both Dear World and Mack & Mabel have developed a cult following among Broadway aficionados. In 1983, Herman had his third megahit with La Cage Aux Folles which broke box-office records at the Palace Theatre and earned Herman yet another Tony Award for Best Musical. It is the only musical to win the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical twice (2004 & 2010), and therefore is the only show to win a Best Musical award for every staged Broadway production. Big League’s renowned production of The Who’s Tommy has been seen throughout North America, South America, and Europe, and most recently in Tokyo. Big League produced the Tony AwardÂŽwinning musical Ain’t Misbehavin’ starring “American Idolâ€? winner Ruben Studdard and the first national tour of the technically dynamic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The most recent seasons included Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, the hip hop dance show Groovaloo in NYC OffBroadway, and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical (annual National Tour and 2012 at Madison Square Garden). Currently, the acclaimed production of Dreamgirls and Hair, having completed US tours, culminate with Japanese engagements at the celebrated new Theater Orb in Tokyo. In the near future, Big League will produce Hello, Dolly! and Bring it On. The booking department at Big League, helmed by Vice President John Starr, is among the most respected in the industry.
