SUMMER AT PROCTORS OFFERS AN ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME! Camps are for children ages 6 and up. Each program allows aspiring artists to be part of an interactive environment that improves performance skills and promotes an outlet for creativity and imagination. Sign up for morning or afternoon sessions or register for one of each and build a full day’s schedule. At Proctors, each week includes opportunities to learn and explore, get active and have fun! Summer Adventures faculty are selected for their professional credentials, interest in the well-being of each student and offer in-depth instruction and exploration opportunities. It is the superb instruction by faculty, the creative environment and the variety of programs that keep students coming back year after year. So we ask, what are YOUR children doing this summer?

BROADWAY CAMP w/ MAMMA MIA! July 5 – 9 • 9am – 4:30pm

We’re planning an Adventure of a lifetime this summer at Proctors. Here is your chance to show your talent and hone your skills in musical theater with the professionals of Mamma Mia! plus professional veterans in the industry here for one week to share their experiences and talents with you. Proctors Broadway Camp is for students who take acting, dance and/or voice lessons; participate in school or community stage productions and/or dream of going on to perform in college or even professionally. The week focuses on the cast and area professionals who will mentor in voice, dance and acting master classes. Along with the classes, each student will have a headshot taken, work on his/her resume building, and attend a performance of Mamma Mia! at the end of the week. There will be many opportunities to learn from the professionals that have the same passion as you, THEATRE! • 5 days of instruction in singing, acting and

dancing by trained professionals.

Acting Out!

July 5 – 8 • 1pm – 4:30pm Through the exploration of fun and creative theatre techniques, students practice their acting abilities in preparation for future auditions. They will learn to expand their stage presence and audition like a star, enhancing their self-esteem and team building skills in the process. Faculty: Joey Hunziker Ages: 7 – 10 year olds Tuition: $100 Location: Fenimore Asset Management Gallery at Proctors

Missoula Children’s Theatre 
 Casting for King Arthur’s Quest

Auditions: Monday July 18 • 10am –12pm Must be present for full length of audition. Rehearsals during: July 18 – 23 Performances: July 22 • 1pm & July 23 • 3pm Internationally acclaimed touring company Missoula Children’s Theatre will cast up to 60 children to perform in King Arthur’s Quest. On Monday, they’re cast as characters; by Friday, they’ve developed character! Their week is filled with rehearsals to refine acting skills and a host of fun and creative theatre techniques. Students will be asked to speak and sing in stress-free group auditions. Wear comfortable clothing and SMILE! No advance preparation is required.  Back for a seventh season, the Summer Jazz Institute will have students swingin’ it here at Proctors with a faculty committed to teaching America’s most influential art form in a fun, hands-on, all-inclusive way. Through jazz, students will build skills that include listening, critical thinking, communication and teamwork all leading to the self-esteem needed to thrive in real-life performance situations. The program will include special guest artists for master classes and culminate in a swingin’ final performance in the GE Theatre with renowned Jazz great Wycliffe Gordon.

Dance: Hip Hop July 25 – 29 • 9am – 12:30pm

Through daily technique classes, group discussions and choreography workshops students will learn common to advanced popping, locking and waving with a street/funk sound. This week is designed for students that have some kind of hip hop experience from classes or studios and/or other dance experience. Improv Theatre

July 25 – 29 • 1pm – 4:30pm
 Performance: July 29 • 4pm Play games, create characters, build scenes and learn the magic of improvisational theatre! Join the Mop and Bucket Company to learn improv skills, stage presence, acting and writing techniques. Students will share their new skills and creativity with friends and family at their premiere improv performance!

What a Character! July 25 – August 5 • 9am – 12:30pm

In every theatre camp someone invents a character that becomes famous among the campers. While in this camp, every student will create a memorable character. The students will explore characterization through voice, movement, creative games and scene work. They will let out all of that creative energy by inventing characters and creating plays inspired by those characters. But watch out! There are bound to be some silly alter egos on the loose and you’re going to love meeting them all! Characters Welcome! Jazz Dance

Costume Design

Put on your dancing shoes! Participants will study classical jazz dance with an exploration of choreography. The week includes daily technique classes, group discussions, choreography workshops and a final performance. All levels of experience welcomed!

Bring a character alive with a look and a costume accessory! Using a variety of materials, students will explore their vision and make it a reality by creating a design. Also, enhance your character from the morning camp (What a Character!) with a costume piece of your own making.

Reel Adventures: Young Filmmakers August 1 – 12 • 10am – 2pm

Work alongside an industry professional creating your own short movies this summer! Gain the experience of college-age career professionals and beyond, all before you enter high school! Go from script to screen and everything in between: writing, planning, assembling cast and crew, location scouting, camera, and lights. Last year’s finished piece has shown at venues across the state, and has been submitted to worldwide festivals. Yours can too! Faculty: Michael Feurstein Ages: 10 – 14
