This season, Coiffeur en France takes us to a contemporary future, away from clichÈs. A third millennium, that brings hope and no dwelling on the past as we focus on nature and craftsmanship. The team has opted for a return to essentials in order to seek better living, quality and to stop the over spending, using attitude.

Despite appearing simplistic, this collection showcases cuts that hide mastered techniques, subtle work and nuances. Hairstyles, which have been constructed without ostentation but with finesse and sharpness. Discover an elegant collection where ethnicity brings fantasy and authenticity.

Latin JAZZ

Latin Jazz is the name of this new collection, with which we wanted to fuse male fashion, a hit today, with the most characteristic styles of the 50â&#x20AC;&#x2122;s. Strong neck and side degradations give character to the cranial shape, with longer hair length to achieve different variations, with both flat and curly hair.

This is our small tribute to the musicians that take us to their imaginary worlds where anything is possible.

Vignette

Aiden Horwood’s collection ‘Vignette’ is inspired by renaissance and baroque portraits, Victorian photography and silent film stars such as Clark Gable. The collection is brought to life by the use of bold shapes, editorial styling and intricate details.

Set amongst barren tree branches and menacing skies, ‘Vignette’ was shot in black and white to enhance the mood and highlight the rich detail of layered clothing and jewellery. “I used modern elements mixed with Avant Garde styling to create a hair-like sculpture, where the hair is strong in shape but simple in silhouette,” Horwood says.

The heritage fundamentals of barbershop and men’s grooming were applied to each image. Horwood combined traditional finger waves with modern free hand clipper work to create a renaissance effect. The images recognise the masculinity, class and stature of men and use facial hair as a symbol of male identity. “I love the theatrical facade pushing the limits of the collection, to make men’s hair as diverse as females,” Horwood says.

I want to show all aspects of my skills as a menâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s hairdresser and to this end my photographer and I brainstormed how this could be achieved. We came up with the idea of using double exposure in my shoot to ensure that the viewer will see all aspects of my skills within each look and to enhance the emotions of each model.

I took my inspiration from past Wild Life Hair Expo shoots, and I added my own personal twist to them by using ‘real’ men as opposed to models, to show the raw look of everyday styles and cuts, thus putting my own flair to their looks with texture, strong lines and body.
