Does Youngblood conduct testing on animals?
Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics is 100% cruelty free. Many of our formulations are made with plant and vegetable-derived ingredients including numerous vegan options. We are proudly included in PETA’s (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) cruelty-free program. Our company does not support testing on animals of any kind.
Most of our packaging is also made from recyclable materials, and our cartons are produced on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified stock with soy ink. The FSC also certifies the black wooden handles on our Kabuki Brushes.
Does Youngblood offer gluten-free and vegan products?
Yes! Youngblood is almost completely vegan, however some of our formulas use beneficial animal byproducts such as beeswax and carmine, which do not harm the animal when gathered.
Majority of our products are also gluten-free, which means they do not contain ingredients derived from wheat, barley or rye, with the exception of our Lipstick.
Is Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics safe to use on all skin types?
Absolutely! Youngblood’s fine mineral formula responds well to all skin types and tones, from acneprone skin to mature skin types. As our formulas are non-comedogenic, reflect light and do not settle into fine lines, Youngblood is universally loved by women to ensure radiant, healthy looking and feeling skin.
Can I use Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics on post-treatment skin?
Youngblood was specifically formulated by founder Pauline Youngblood to be used on skin that has recently undergone harsh procedures, such as surgeries, and cancer treatments. Developed in a medical setting, Youngblood developed our flagship product, the Loose Mineral Foundation to be gentle and lightweight enough to heal and be used immediately after cosmetic facial treatments, including peels, IPL and microdermabrasion.

What are the main differences among Youngblood Foundations?
Each Youngblood foundation offers a variety of finishes and levels of coverage to meet the different needs of our customers. Our Loose Mineral Foundation offers maximum coverage and camouflaging capabilities with a subtly radiant finish. Youngblood’s Pressed Mineral Foundation provides a soft-matte finish and is recommended for those with oily skin. Our Liquid Mineral Foundation is best suited for normal to dry skin types, containing marine extracts to keep skin hydrated. Mineral Radiance Moisture Tint is a sheer, lightweight alternative to liquid foundation. Mineral Radiance Crème Powder Foundation combines the great coverage and light-reflecting qualities of a liquid foundation with the shinecontrolling benefits of a powder.

How much coverage does Youngblood’s mineral formulas give?
Youngblood offers a range of incredibly buildable formulas in multiple finishes, from loose to liquid. Not only were Youngblood’s foundations formulated to conceal redness and heal skin post-treatment to leave women feeling confident in their healthy, radiant looking skin, but our coverage can also effectively cover tattoos!
Are Youngblood’s cosmetics drying?
Many assume that since mineral cosmetics are largely made up of powder formulas, those with dry or combination skin cannot use them. Youngblood provides the exact opposite, our mineral formulas being completely talc free and trapping moisture in the skin, doing more good in keeping your skin hydrated and comfortable than anything else.
Does Youngblood use Bismuth Oxychloride in its formulas?
A few of our products contain bismuth oxychloride (a derivative of bismuth). Whilst many cheap forms of bismuth can cause irritation, we only use a pharmaceutical grade of bismuth oxychloride that has undergone a thorough filtering process to ensure its purity and safety performance, to provide smoothness and help makeup wear longer. For best results, it’s important always to use a clean brush and avoid over buffing, especially if skin is sensitive or is healing from a procedure.
What about nanoparticles?
Youngblood does not use nanoparticles. Our pharmaceutical grade Titanium Dioxide is non-nano, and used for opacity, colour and its UV properties.
