 Safety Chemical Splash Goggles The chemical splash goggles are designed to seal against the skin around both eyes and protect the wearer from splashing at almost any angle. Glasses or safety glasses with side shields do not provide adequate protection. Full face shields may be used in conjunction with and secondary to goggles, but they should never be used to totally replace goggles. Face shields offer protection from fluid splash only from a head-on direction. Fluid splashed from other angles can penetrate the area between the face shield and the wearer's eyes. Hence, when ever working with chemicals, dusts and such contamination that might permeate the eyes, it important to wear safety googles that offer greater protection.  Hand Protection Accessories Health effects from Oil Based Drilling Fluid exposure vary depending on the chemical constituents of the drilling fluid. Oil based drilling fluid can cause skin disorders, such as dermatitis. Skin exposure can happen at the Shakers or the drilling floor while performing activities including cleaning, handling the fluid through pumping or mixing, making piping connections, mud tank cleaning, collection of samples or when invert spills occur.
