Financial Supporters Update

Autumn 2015

❛As an organisation, Promise Keepers has had a huge impact on many men within the churches that come under my oversight. These men are more committed to their spouses, to their families and to their churches. This has been achieved by ordinary men sharing (and at times baring) their lives as a testimony to God’s amazing grace in and through Jesus.❜ The Right Reverend Richard Ellena, Anglican Bishop of the Nelson Diocese

Over the years many thousands of individual men, families and churches have been blessed by the work of Promise Keepers. Our financial supporter base is a reflection of those who have been specifically blessed by PK or have seen the outworking of this, influencing men, families and churches in this nation. In recent years we have had a vision to widen the work of encouragement into the churches of our nation through Men’s Ministry Consultancy. This work ramped up significantly in 2014. The Board of Promise Keepers finds itself moving into a season where they can no longer presume on the past level of support from a major sponsor and we need to build the financial supporter base to support the current level of activity. The Events are largely self-funded, but reaching the men and churches of our nation throughout the year needs financial provision. In recent years up to $150,000 per annum shortfall in overall funding has been met by the sponsor, but this is not sustainable.

challenge individual men, to grow them in their relationship with God and to encourage them to join a Men’s Group at their local church. Over the last 12 months our new Men’s Ministry Consultancy faith initiative has boomed ahead, helping churches with their own men. We have now met with over 250 churches – pastors and leaders – in one-to-one meetings. The goal is to maintain personal contact so that Men’s Ministry thrives. We have the right men on the PK team – men who produce results.

❛It was great to have extra input from a fresh perspective for our Men’s Ministry.❜ Dayele Hobson, Men’s Ministry Coordinator, Living Waters Christchurch

The heart of Promise Keepers is to be a blessing to the Church in this nation. Our primary focus to achieve this is through the transforming power of Jesus on the men of this nation. We aim to encourage the Church to develop and grow its Ministry to Men, and at the same time as we

Promise Keepers Men’s Events are more than a catalyst for God to move powerfully in men’s lives. Events like GO later this year are a key tool for churches to build into their men’s calendar. Strategic-thinking churches leverage off the excitement and power of a Promise Keepers Event to build momentum in their own ministries.

GO 2015
