Nutrition Tip provided by Katie Davis MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, Member Loaves & Fishes Nutrition Advisory Council

Like filling a car with gasoline, breakfast fills your body with the fuel it needs to run all day! Eating breakfast increases focus and concentration, improving performance both at school and work. It also enhances weight loss and maintenance efforts. Include grains, protein and fruit or vegetables with breakfast every day. No time to make breakfast? That’s okay! All of these breakfasts are quick, easy and tasty!

1. Low-fat vanilla yogurt topped with fresh fruit and cheerios 2. Whole wheat bagel with peanut butter and an apple 3. Oatmeal made with low-fat milk and topped with dried cranberries 4. Half of a honey and nut butter sandwich paired with a banana 5. Scrambled eggs with veggies and low-fat shredded mozzarella cheese (hint: scramble everything together in a coffee mug and microwave for 1-2 minutes.)
