MEET THE DOCTORS April was dedicated to obstetrics and gynecology, as the Click It Clinic specialty of the month. We featured some of our multitalented OB/GYN physicians, who are also parents, artists, bloggers, nonprofit leaders, media personalities, and even serve in the National Guard (just to name a few other pursuits)! Dr. Cheau Williams states he chose to practice telemedicine with Click It Clinic because he feels that “in today’s society, people are much more busier than they were before–balancing work, family, and other priorities all at the same time. Giving patients more access to telemedicine opens up opportunities for patients to receive healthcare in a faster, more efficient way without compromising quality.” Dr. Nicole Jarvis says, "Patients should have easy, affordable, and fast access to outstanding medical care. While sometimes situations absolutely require an in-person visit, exam, and tests, there are also many patient issues or questions that can be answered or treated with an appropriate conversation between the patient and physician.” Dr. Lori-Linell Hollins continues, “I think the convenience of telemedicine is wonderful for patients. Latest Events and Happenings Google Online Marketing Competition
Presentation at Texas Life Sciences Forum
University of Houston MBA students participate every year in the Google Online Marketing Challenge, a contest for students to create and run online marketing campaigns using Google AdWords and Google+. Over 200,000 students and professors from approximately 100 countries worldwide have participated in the challenge since its launch eight years ago.
Click It Clinic has been selected to present a company showcase at the prestigious 2016 Texas Life Science Forum this May. Selection is granted to only the most outstanding emerging technology companies and industry leaders. The company presentation is to be held on Thursday, May 26th.
Google provides a $250 AdWords advertising budget for students to facilitate online marketing for a local business or non-profit organization over a three-week period. The teams that develop the most successful campaigns win prizes, including trips to Google offices. Click It Clinic was selected as a client company. The University of Houston MBA student team have researched the organization’s current website and determined ad words purchased by competitors to develop a campaign strategy. As soon as the students submit the strategic plan to Google, the three-week execution will begin, to determine final results and ROI. The University of Houston Bauer College of Business has produced nine participating teams in the last five years, bringing home honors including 2011 Global Champions, 2013 Americas Region Win, 2nd Place Global NFP Category Win and two 3rd Place Global NFP Category wins.

Click It Clinic Grants A Physician’s One Wish !
It’s all about the physicians. In honor of National Physicians Week, Click It Clinic partnered with Physicians Working Together to initiate the #OneWishChallenge. We asked all physicians, “What is your ONE WISH for a change in healthcare?” 2016 marked the very first National Physicians Week, celebrated from March 25th to March 31st, culminating in National Doctor’s Day on March 30th (a longtime observed national holiday first celebrated in 1933). With increasing rates of physician burnout and an average of 400 physician suicides per year, National Physicians Week was spearheaded to express appreciation and renewed respect for physicians’ hard work and sacrifices, as well as to inform the public and spread awareness for patients to have a better understanding of the role physicians currently play in healthcare. The response was inspiring and moving. A common theme throughout all responses across a wide variety of different medical disciplines was the desire for healthcare to return to its roots–to heal patients with the patient’s best interest at heart. Healthcare has become increasingly regulated by insurance companies and hindered by red tape. Today, patients are labeled as healthcare “consumers”, often working against the physicians who treat them, fighting battles with insurance, and jumping through hoops to “purchase” the product of a physician’s services.

Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and the American Hospital Associate (AHA) surveyed hospitals and found that paperwork adds an additional hour for every hour of patient care. While regulation in healthcare is definitely necessary, it may be argued that excessive regulation can harmfully affect quality of care. Telemedicine could be the key to physician and patient flexibility. A Harvard Medical School study found that while an average in-person medical visit takes 121 minutes, the average telehealth doctor visit only takes 15 minutes (includes sign in, log in, paperwork and forms, and the actual visit). The purpose of National Physicians Week is to celebrate all that doctors do. Our hope for the #OneWishChallenge was to kickstart this important conversation about the healthcare industry and break down barriers between patients and physicians. Click it Clinic rewarded the physician whose video has the most likes on YouTube with a trip to Houston to attend Click It Clinic’s Virtual Physicians Summit, including airfare, hotel stay, conference registration, spa package, and more.
