Most embarrassing moments...

Lauren Sommers: Probs when I was flling up my water bottle and it overfowed, and then I dropped it. Another one when I’m walking in the hall with Jane Klostermeyer, and she drops her Dr Pepper.

Andrew Astorino: My frst day of senior year my pants ripped during a presentation.

Cole Chapman: Almost getting dunked on.

Janiya Wilson :

I was sitting in World History with Ms. Ray, and I was on my phone. I remember my phone happened to fall, and I tried to reach over and grab my phone. Unfortunately my phone was too far from me, and I ended up falling on my side taking the whole desk with me. It was one of those desks where the chair and the desk were connected, and I was leaning on the side of the bar that connects the chair

KNiGHTS

Amelia Fink: My freshman and sophomore years. I was so lame and still trying to fnd my style.

Alex Chengary: Having my picture of me playing a gay dad on the cover of the Prospector.

Audrey Wagner : My most embarrassing moment would probably be when I shaved my head sophomore year. Walking to class looking like an anthropomorphic kiwi wasn’t my best look.

Nadya Alanis : Waiting a long time for the football game inside the building in the commons. At that time I waited at the same time as the football players so I was with a lot of football players by myself. As well as having a stain on my pants not realizing after I’ve done the workout and covering it with my sweater.

Isabella Villalobos: Me falling down stairs and saying it was on my bucket list.

WILLS OF WAVERLY PLACE

I, William Adkins, will my brother, Xander Adkins, my room so he stops complaining about having a curtain for a door.

I, Nadya Alanis, will all my good hopes as well as the motivation and faith they need to have in order to succeed, as well as being there for Daria, Jane, Zari, and Samiya.

I, Madeline Aldworth, will my broken-door Nissan to my brother Dylan. Olivia Tokimoto, Nina, and Meaghan, my cello and adoration for PSO. Rya, Sophie, and Graham, my college knowledge and baby carrots from the KLC. To Amy, Paige, Tori, Rani, and every leader, I wish you all the best in Operation Snowball.

I, Alex Chengary, will my Basic White People Songs playlist to James Galanis. Crank it in memory of me, brother.

I, Charlotte Chengary, will the role of yearbook class DJ to Anne Lagowski. (LOTS of Taylor Swift please!) Can’t wait to see what you make next year. :)

I, Mimi Fink, will Jessica Thoma all my techniques on skipping and what teachers do and don’t care about.

I, Kira Hammerstrom, will Kirk Hammerstrom my cheer uniform and my car keys. Jadynn Cosma can have my parking pass.

I, Mollie Kearns, will my role as EIC of KnightMedia snacks (and my hurricane survival skills) to my favorite junior Claire Wynkoop. You’re going to crush it as online EIC! I also will my prized Expo markers to Stella Palm, Ben Mitchell, and Tessa Trylovich so they can continue to color code the dry erase wall and staf calendar to my perfectionist standards. :)

I, Sophia Lange, will all my monster high dolls to my little sister, Bianca Lange, so she won’t have to search Amazon to collect more. I will all my silly jokes to Norah Ksiazk so she can be just a little bit sillier. I will all of my amazing advice from junior year to my upcoming junior friends so that they won’t make the dumb mistakes I did, and to my upcoming senior friends and boyfriend, my love, luck, and stress free weekends.

I, Azarieae Martin, will Viki Tacheva a good seat on the bus because I know she’ll need it. I also will Josiah Martin my graduation playlist because he’ll need that in a year or two.

I, Sarah Matzkin, will Alyssa Kowols, Molly Mundt, Dylan Maye, and Kaia Mavradas my car so they can go get food during pasteups whenever they want.

I, Clarissa Notini, will Ellie Rosean all of my motivation I have to get through senior year.

I, Jon Numani, will my annotated copy of Meditations by Marcus Aurelius to Declan Lawlor.

I, PJ O’Grady, will my announcer talent, smooth baseball swing, and writing ability to Kenny Munao. I understand he’ll need all of those for future successes, so I proudly bestow those traits to his name.

We, Anna Parisi, Kelly Jordan, and Emily Caravello, will Dylan Maye the Prospect High School Speech Duet Empire. Bring home another state champion medal!!

I, Via Reed, will Caroline, Maddy, and Liv my addiction to Dr. Pepper. Even if I couldn’t convince everyone that it is the perfect drink (I’m talking to you, Lucy) I still am happy I improved the lives of many.

I, Marina Roe, will Kelly Robinson, Claire Stonitsch, and Lauren Morton my pet fsh Brogan. The Brogan he’s named after may have stood me up at a blood drive, but Brogan the fsh is the better than any guy out there. You don’t need a guy if you have Brogan.

I, Abbey Schmit, will Rowan my page turning skills. I will Kori and Elena my unnecessary commentary on life. I will Meaghan and Nina all my orchestra laughs. I wish them all a fantastic end to high school.

I, Marco Siviero, will my brother, Carlo Siviero, a positive attitude so he doesn’t have to get called out for talking back.

I, Sarah Stavnes, will my title as EIC of tagging to Chelsea McGowan and my responsibility to play games during lunch to Kyle Struzik. May you take them with great care and respect.

I, Lilly Trylovich, will my sister Tessa Trylovich the beautiful Karen the Kia and hope that she takes care of it when I go to school.

I, Julia Valentini, will Olivier Witek and Elijah Muller my erasers so that they can fx their abundance of mistakes on math assignments.

I, Isabella Villalobos, pass down my unspoken rizz that was passed down to me (from Mika Smith) to Caroline Machel, so she can fnally get a bf she wants.

I, Audrey Wagner, will the Wagner reputation to my freshman brother Tommy. If he tarnishes it, then... Just kidding, I don’t know him. I also will Maya Weir my passion for her salted brownie cookies. Maybe now she will be able to actually eat the food she bakes before I inhale it all.

Many thanks from the class of 2024:

Coach Joseph, Poisson, Rathe, and. Schultz. They have all been very understanding in my bad times and they are my favorite teachers.

Coach Joseph I would like to thank the most for being so caring and checking in with me even in the hallways. He made gym class so much fun and a lot more bearable. He has taught me to be more patient and kind and I couldn’t thank him enough for being such an amazing teacher.

Poisson always knows how to make a room laugh and I love how he encourages creativity. Rathe believed in my ideas and cares about his students while also making a class that’s not too fun, very fun.

Mr. Schultz has pushed me to do better in Spanish and inspires me with the love of his language every day to keep going on and learning the language. I want to be a translator and when I feel like giving up on that and I walk into his class I remember all of the reasons I wanted to be a translator in the frst place.

-Sophia Lange

There’s way too many people I can thank during my time at Prospect, but I’ll name just a couple for the sake of saving space. First and foremost, thank you Mr. Block for being a truly amazing journalism advisor and, more importantly, entrusting me and others on our staf to take risks and go beyond what we believed was possible for ourselves.

Thank you Coach Giusti for allowing me to compete at the varsity level and teaching me many lessons that extend beyond the game of baseball.

-PJ O’Grady

Among the numerous staf and students who have made my time here incredible, I would especially like to thank Mr. Block. I have always loved writing, but when I took his Intro to Multimedia class during my sophomore year, I became a part of KnightMedia and got the opportunity to use my love of writing to impact our school.

Thanks to the experiences Block gave me in that class and on the KnightMedia staf, investigative journalism quickly became a source of joy and gratifcation.

-Justin Peabody

I would like to thank Block and Stoltz for being two of the best journalism advisors I could have asked for. I appreciate the endless support they have provided me over the past

four years and how they have provided me the environment to grow my leadership skills, as well as trusting me enough to help lead an entire publication.

I would also like to thank Kaminsky and Rathe for fueling my love of history and providing me with endless laughs during each class period.

-Mollie Kearns

I want to thank both my wonderful Chemistry teacher, Mrs. Bergquist, and Ms. Brej for instilling in me a love for Chemistry, all of the friends I made throughout my years at Prospect.

Thank you Mr. Barnum for accepting my stupendous amount of tardies and absences and all of my other teacher at Prospect and Conant who got me through my 4 years of high school and were understanding.

-Janiya Wilson

Mr Higdon for being the nicest teacher at Prospect. I owe passing physics to him. And Mr Heilman for being so funny and making law so much easier. His chipmunk stories will haunt me for years and I won’t forget him.

-Amelia Fink

I am very thankful for Mr.Poisson, Mr. Heilman, Mrs. Burnette, Mr. Wolowiec, Mr. Soderwall, and Mr. Wintermute for showing me that there’s no limit to the things that you want to achieve in life. They have always motivated me not only as a student, but as a person, I really appreciate them, and I’m never going to forget them.

-Nadya Alanis

I would really like to thank Mr. Lussow, he was my English teacher in the Junior year and even though I don’t have him this year, he still helps me out with whatever I ask of him. He’s also very kind and he has a very warm personality. I like how I can ask him about anything and he’ll go out of his way to help me.

-Azarieae Martin

Michael Andrews, being my soccer coach and teacher. John Joseph, my gym teacher and always being there for us.

Jason Cohen, I’m thankful for him being my soccer coach and a great teacher making class fun. He made me understand the game more in my position and I scored quite a few while playing for him.

-Marco Siviero

Mike Reidy and Peter King developed me into not only a better volleyball player but a better person. Chad Froeschle helped me decide what I wanted to major in college. He also gave us advice and guided us for our pickle bros business in college entrepreneurship.

-Marko Digulio

I would like to thank Schaf! I looked forward to 6th block AP Psych every day and her teaching style and positive energy made me psyched to learn! As I continue in my psychology major the next four years, I will always remember her lessons and Logan stories.

-Charlotte Chengary

I would like to thank Mr. Heilman for making law my favorite class and making both the class and team awesome to be in. Shout out Mr. Collins for also making law the best class and remembering me even two years after I took his class. Lets go Law Dawgs!

-Sarah Matzkin

Thank you to Mrs. Kanupke and Mr. Riedy for believing in me even when I sometimes didn’t believe in myself. Although I may have cried over math countless times to you both, with your help I was able to succeed in Calculus.

-Olivia Reed

Mr. Heilman for always having high energy during his psych classes and keeping class interesting. Mr. Riedy for including random stories in class sometimes and making funny comments in class.

The Suite Life of a KnightMedia Editor

MOLLIE

I am incredibly sad that I am saying goodbye to the KnightMedia program. If you would have told freshman year Mollie that she would have been the Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, I’m positive she would have laughed in your face. However, I owe my love for writing and “recruitment” to the program to Mr. Block. Block showed me during WOC how writing could extend beyond research papers, and I was hooked to journalism when I joined staf my sophomore year. This past year as EIC has taught me so much about myself, both journalistically and personality-wise. I have gained an immense amount of confdence in my own writing, design and editing abilities; when I came into Prospect, I was so shy and could have never imagined leading an entire staf to a national level. While I’m still not the

most extroverted person in our newsroom, I have learned that even the quieter leaders can make an impact. KnightMedia has also made me believe in myself, whether it be in the way I am able to connect with sources for the stories I write each issue or how I put my best foot forward at each and every competition. I know without a doubt that the leadership skills I have gained through this program will carry me well beyond the walls of Prospect, and the ways I have been able to come out of my shell and grow this year are invaluable (especially since I was crazy enough to hold the EIC position for 2 Prospect stafs). KnightMedia has really been my home for the past 3 years. Some of my best memories from high school came out of room 162, the press box or the podcast studio, and I was able to meet some of my best friends through this program. Every program needs a leader, and I am so grateful to have had Block in my corner. I knew that with any story I wrote or however many

Don’t blink. One second I’m hopping of the bus for my frst day of high school, and next thing I know I’m getting ready for college. One can only wonder, how’d it pass so quickly? I’m sure it’s a bittersweet moment for many of us — at times it may even feel scary. I can’t help but feel like the pressure of such a quantum leap may be too much to bear. Society has tasked us with fguring out our life’s purpose, yet we have such little experience to make any truly informed decisions about a future job.

Despite the daunting abyss that faces each teenager at some point in their lives, I frmly believe that KnightMedia was THE most infuential part of my high school experience. In all honesty, the program’s rigor, especially the frst couple years, almost drove me to the point of giving up. During my junior year, I told myself and others that I’d quit KnightMedia. What was the point of all this early-morning interviewing, late-night page-designing and stress-flled writing anyway? I was exhausted and burnt out; I pushed myself anyway.

community on Prospect sports. I remember as a kid I thought it was the coolest job in the world to watch big games and talk about them to fans. That little kid still lives inside me, yearning for one last game to announce with Kenny. I’ll never forget those games.

On the newspaper side of things, I felt the true meaning of duty. No amount of busyness or conficts would get in the way of me doing my job and because of that feeling. I would fnd a way to edit my peers’ stories no matter the sacrifces that would be made. I got to write what I wanted to write about and express myself in a way that makes me feel alive.

I didn’t just learn writing or announcing though. I made memories and connections that I’ll cherish forever. For that, I’d like to show my gratitude to the KnightMedia leaders before me. Thank you Olivia Kim for teaching me the art of serenity in such a fast-paced environment. Thank you Alyssa Schulz for being patient and walking me through the process of page design. Thank you Ella Mitchell for showing me the ways of leadership through directness and unwavering commitment. Thank you Kevin Lynch for being such a kind and personable EIC in spite of a difcult year.

times I might have doubted myself, Block would be there to support me no matter what (the constant amount of snacks I brought in didn’t hurt either). Anyone who comes through this program is incredibly lucky to have Block as their advisor, because he invests in you like no other teacher and will do quite literally anything to help you reach your goals. I know for a fact that I could not have done this alone this year, so I would like to thank PJ O’Grady for being the best co-EIC I could have asked for. In the way that I was a perfectionist and ran around 162 like a crazy woman at every single pasetups, PJ was able to balance this chaotic energy and really bring out the best in our program. PJ, I have learned so much from you and I will really miss having you by my side next year; anyone in this program, including myself, is so lucky to call you a friend. I have been able to work with so many incredible people through KnightMedia, but I am incredibly happy I was able to see my underclassmen grow into the leaders they are today. Stella and Tessa specifcally, I love you both and I know the program is in such good hands with you and the rest of Exec Board next year. I look forward to seeing everything you create from my dorm at the University of South

Carolina in the fall, but don’t forget me in your future Tropical Smoothie runs during lunch :) It wouldn’t be right to fnish this farewell without thanking arguably the most important person I have met through KnightMedia: Claire Wynkoop. Claire, you are my best friend and I am already crying thinking about how I won’t get to see you everyday next year. Sitting next to you in AMC was one of the best things that could have happened to sophomore year me, and our friendship has extended so far beyond KTV Live broadcasts and page design. I mean, I’m not sure how many pairs of best friends can say they have survived a hurricane together. I’m going to miss you so so much. Now, before I cry too much while writing this, no amount of words can express how grateful I am to have been a part of KnightMedia, and to quote Hannah Montana, you’ll always fnd your way back home. While I’m looking forward to the adventures ahead of me in college, I can’t wait to come back and visit the home that is room 162.

Enter senior year, a period of self-actualization. I was bestowed the honor, along with Mollie Kearns, to help lead KnightMedia as a co-Editorin-Chief; the real fun began then. It was defnitely a strange feeling at frst to have so many people looking towards you for direction, and I’d be lying if I said I had it all fgured out. I gladly accepted my role though and, looking back, I had the great est year of my life.

For someone with zero natural speaking ability, I got to announce some amazing foot ball and basketball games with none other than Kenny Munao. It was just fat-out surreal to be alongside one of my best friends to entertain our

I’m proud to help pass the torch to the new KnightMedia staf, and I’m confdent that the program will maintain and even exceed its standards next year and the years afterward. To many more exciting trips, exhilarating competitions, stressful pasteups and lifelong memories.

Cheers!

My freshman year of high school, I decided I wanted to write for the newspaper. English was my best subject in school, and to be completely honest I thought being involved in a program would look good on my college applications. Without knowing what to expect, I joined the introductory class. But despite these seemingly-shal low reasons, I truly loved to write. Looking

back, I never could’ve imagined how infuential this program was going to be in my high school experience. It has introduced me to some of my closest friends and allowed me to get to know Prospect in such a unique way; it gave me a place

full of people who wanted to see me succeed in all aspects of my life. Many of my favorite memories from these past four years have taken place in the newspaper room at 9:30 p.m. The stress of fnalizing each page within the strict deadline combined with the excitement of creating the best version of the Prospector each issue is a feeling I will defnitely miss now that it’s over. This past year I held the position of Online Editor-in-Chief. The switch between focusing on the print publication to running the website was not an easy adjustment. However, it pushed me out of my comfort zone and the new leadership role gave me the opportunity to connect with so many of my peers. Next year I plan to go to the University of Arizona to study biology in the Pre-Med track. I had always envisioned my future self writing for either a newspaper or a magazine, and even though I will not be continuing in journalism, I am beyond grateful for Mr. Block and the entire KnightMedia team. Block has been the best mentor a student could have, and I do not have enough words to
