Grow our whole House income to £5m (£3m social

Our Grade 1 listed townhouse and Gothic Chapel, steeped in history, create a unique and special space. We encourage and enable our members to connect, discuss, create and exchange ideas. Our diverse programme of members’ events includes intimate live music performances, regular DJ sets, tastings, interviews with people of note, craft workshops to refine or unleash your skills, first-class festivities to celebrate those special occasions, plus comedy, poetry and theatre. We also surround ourselves with a changing roster of beautiful and thought–provoking contemporary art, and an eclectic genre and decade hopping soundtrack.

House of St Barnabas values

WE ARE INCLUSIVE We are creating an environment where all people can thrive. We understand the positive impact that difference has. WE ARE ENCOURAGING St Barnabas is known as the son of encouragement and encouragement underpins all that we do working with people. We understand that change is not a linear process, that people can move through positive and negative experiences and that we all need support throughout our lives. WE ARE FAIR In a complex world we seek to do what is right and increase access to opportunity. WE ARE CREATIVE We are ambitious, we look for opportunities within our community and beyond, to increase the impact and value of our work. With limited resources available we know we need to be creative with what we have and agile in how we work with and through others.

THE FUTURE

We have exciting plans for the future. We intend to support those already in work but who want to progress from a first job after homelessness to “good work”, with better pay, more regular hours and better prospects for promotion, and we intend to increase provision through our accommodation pathway. To do this we will need to grow our commercial income from both the club and private hire (including a potential building development project). We also want to better use the skills and connections of our community of members and supporters in pursuit of our aims.

Over the next five years we will:

01 Increase our depth of support for Employment Academy graduates into both Good Work & Good Home increasing from 5% to 50% of working graduates gaining both.

02 Engage our community to increase our impact, income and influence.

03 Provide a high-quality hospitality offer, supported by a strong F&B partnership.

04 Invest in our people, become an employer of choice and a beacon of good work in hospitality.

05 Grow our whole House income to £5m (£3m social business + fundraising; £2m F&B).

06 Invest in our buildings and infrastructure to underpin our impact and income ambitions, ensuring we are carrying out our custodian duties.
