We are so pleased you are considering applying for the Director of Fundraising role at Concern Worldwide (UK).
This is an exciting time for the organisation with the opportunity to shape our beyond 2025 strategy and an exciting and rewarding role. I have recently joined Concern Worldwide myself, after 15 years at Save the Children spent mostly in Fundraising and Marketing, and I have been so impressed by the impactful work Concern does, the people and culture and the incredible loyalty of our supporters.
This role works closely with me, the Fundraising Committee of our Board of Trustees, and peers in South Korea, the USA, Northern Ireland and Ireland. It is a great role for global collaboration and is supported by the Board and by me. It also works closely with other DEC Fundraising Directors, where there is strong peer support.
This is a strategic Director of Fundraising role, with opportunity to submit new fundraising ideas and innovation to an investment pot, with a clear business case, which allows us to test and learn new approaches. Overseeing a fantastic fundraising team and with the role being a key part to our Senior Management Team, it will take strategic decisions, report to Board and ensure Concern is a brilliant place to work.
Concern Worldwide (UK) is dedicated to one goal of ending extreme poverty, whatever it takes, and this role is a crucial part in ensuring we are able to achieve this by continuing to seek secure flexible funding for this mission. A key part of our strategy is being a diverse and inclusive organisation and we are looking for a leader and culture bearer who will share our values and help us advance our equality, diversity and inclusion commitments.
Do get in touch for a conversation if this appeals to you. We would love to hear from you.
Warmest wishes,
Sayyeda Salam UK Executive Director

Concern Worldwide encourages all qualified candidates, irrespective of gender, ethnicity and origin, disability, political beliefs, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status to apply to become a part of the organisation. Concern is against all forms of discrimination and unequal power relations and is committed to promoting equality.
We deliver life-saving and life-changing interventions to some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. From rapid emergency response to our innovative programming in health and nutrition, livelihoods and education, we go to the hardest to reach places to make sure that no-one is left behind.
Today we are a team of over 3,500 highly skilled and dedicated professionals from 50 countries who share an exceptional depth and diversity of experience.
We believe in a world where no one lives in poverty, fear or oppression; where all have access to a decent standard of living and the opportunities and choices essential to a long, healthy and creative life; a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Our mission is to permanently transform the lives of people living in extreme poverty, tackling its root causes and building resilience.

Concern Worldwide was born out of a need to act in the face of injustice. Since then, solidarity with the poorest people in the world has been the driving force of the organisation.
Our vision is a world where no-one lives in poverty, fear or oppression; where all have access to a decent standard of living and the opportunities and choices essential to a long healthy and creative life; a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
We believe that all people, regardless of their identities and needs, have the right to be treated with respect and dignity. We work in ways that put the needs, dignity and voice of the poorest people at the centre of their own development.
We understand that structural inequalities are drivers and maintainers of extreme poverty and that extreme poverty cannot be eliminated without addressing these inequalities. We work to support the poorest and most marginalised with the means to look after their own needs and to have their voices heard, recognising that the aim of achieving equitable and inclusive societies is challenging and will take time and commitment. This is a challenge to which Concern is committed.
We acknowledge and value diversity and different perspectives based on dimensions of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, physical and mental abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs and other differences.
We want to enhance the diversity we already have in Concern becoming more diverse and more representative of the communities in which we work and those we serve. We will commit to do this at all levels of the organisation; our board, our management and across all staffing.
We commit to having inclusive leadership that models, represents and nourishes a culture where all identities are accepted, valued and belong.
