WE LC O ME
TO
Provide is a Community Interest Company that delivers NHS and Local Authority community services across East Anglia. We currently employ approximately 1,200 staff across a number of sites in a wide range of roles, from frontline patient-care roles (such as nurses, therapists, doctors and other healthcare workers), to supporting roles (such as corporate, facilities and estates staff). We deliver a broad range of health and social care services in the community, and are committed to making sure that they are safe, responsive and of high quality. We work from a variety of community settings, such as three community hospitals, community clinics, schools, nursing homes and primary care settings, as well as within peoples’ homes to provide approximately 50 services to children, families and adults.
Our vision reflects our approach to help people care for themselves, and that we remain ambitious in the pursuit of quality.
We provide services across Essex and in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, as well as the two London boroughs of Waltham Forest and Redbridge. We have an income of approximately ÂŁ67 million, and serve communities with a total population of more than 1.9 million people. We are a social enterprise organisation, meaning that any profit is reinvested into our services or the communities we serve. We share the ethos and values of the NHS, and indeed many benefits available to our staff are equivalent, or comparable to, those provided by NHS organisations.

with Our staff care deeply about all our patients and customers, their families and carers. The hundreds of compliments we receive are written proof, humbling and moving, of the daily effort to live our values.

Provide is able to offer numerous benefits to its employees, including: Incremental pay scales with competitive rates. Generous annual leave entitlements, on a par with the NHS. Competitive pension scheme with associated life assurance and injury benefits, either through a Group Personal Pension Scheme or NHS Pension Scheme. Flexible working arrangements. Lease car scheme. Childcare voucher scheme. Access to a Credit Union. Flexible retirement options. Healthy living initiatives. A range of staff discounts on shopping and leisure facilities – both local and national. Access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
Valuing staff Provide is committed to helping staff achieve a balance between home and work life, and supporting their wellbeing. We value diversity, employing staff from a range of backgrounds and are committed to the mental health of our employees and to employing staff with disabilities. What is less known is how innovative we are. Whether using tablets to improve speech therapy sessions, introducing electronic rostering to reduce waste, or analysing the gait of older people to reduce the threat of falls, the organisation is always looking for a “better way”.
We are also committed to helping our staff achieve their potential through supportive management and access to learning and development opportunities.
Provide is owned by its employees. Every Provide worker, from the frontline clinical staff, to admin support staff, is given the opportunity to become an owner of the company for just £1. As an owner, you have a say in the future direction of the company. You can make suggestions for improvements and influence how any profits are reinvested. It is Provide’s staff owners who vote on which charities receive donations. Owners can elect governors to act as their representatives on the Council of Governors. This body has a number of functions, including being involved in the appointment or removal of the chair and the other nonexecutive directors who are the majority of the Provide Board – therefore demonstrating how the owners can have a strong role to play in the governance of the organisation.
Benefits of working for us We offer Agenda for Change terms and conditions of employment and recognise past NHS service when calculating entitlements. However, working for us also provides some unique advantages: inparticular the opportunity to have a say in the organisational decision-making by being a member (owner), or even a staff governor.
