1 | 2020 Report to the Community
FROM THE PRESIDENT
Thank you for taking an interest in Providence. We are a Christian academic community in the evangelical tradition that teaches people to grow in knowledge and character for leadership and service in churches and communities around the world. Our vision is to make a difference for Christ through staff, faculty, students, and alumni. We hold five core values. We value Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord. He is first in our hearts and minds. Everything we do is for His work in the world. We value Christian community, which is the context in which we live out our mission and our priorities. We value academic excellence, which we practice in community to glorify God. We value exploration. We are curious about God’s world and the life we live in it. Finally, we value diversity of thought; we seek to understand before we seek to be understood.
As you read this report you will gain a deeper sense of who we are and what the past year has meant to us. Every number in the report represents people, and every person has a story. All those stories from all over the globe make up the story that was Providence in 2019-2020.
