BRIGHT AND QUIRKY

Did you know that wearing bright and colourful clothing can lift your mood?

‘Dopamine Dressing’ – a term coined by psychologist Dr Dawn Karen – is the newest wave filling social media feeds. The idea being that wearing bright and colourful clothes in a way that brings joy releases a ‘feel good’ chemical called Dopamine in your brain.

If you love a dash of quirky charm, visit Ballarat’s Hattie and the Wolf where you will find the spring/ summer collection from UK fashion house Emily Lovelock.

Combining soft, feminine silhouettes together with bold, classic prints, the range is guaranteed to bring you joy – and also quite a few compliments

The Hearty Homes family business has a reputation for building quality finished homes and is dedicated to clients during their building journey for more than 15 years. With a strong foundation of knowledge and experience, director Kevin Vanderkley and his hardworking Hearty Homes team are proud to build homes that see people flourish in their lifestyle, their way.

From value homes that are perfect for firsthome buyers and investors, Hearty Homes also build grand and spacious homesteads and striking family homes. They want clients to

love the design, love the process, and most of all love their new home. That's why they say a building should be "Love at First Site”.

The steady and sustainable growth of Hearty Homes allows the opportunity for more clients to build with them and construct homes both in Ballarat and surrounding regional districts. As a benefit, it also creates availability to provide employment opportunities for local people and local tradespeople and maintain a strong connection to the local community.

Hearty Homes' two Ballarat display homes in the Lucas display village, the Homestead

298 and the Highfield 250, showcase the workmanship and variety of homes they offer. Whether choosing one of the existing plans and tailoring it to suit or bringing your own ideas for a custom build, clients can be assured of a smooth and collaborative experience.

With the success of the Homestead 298 display and a new range of homestead floorplans, regional homeowners appreciate Hearty Homes' ability to build on acreage for practical country living, delivering everything needed for a growing family. This homestead style maximises its surroundings, open plan living, generous storage options, large master suites and comfortable family spaces.

The Highfield 250 display home is a favoured design consistently allowing

homeowners to enjoy the space and flow it offers. An excellent choice with an array of clever compact options that do not compromise on convenient features required in a modern home.

These displayed homes are not all Hearty Homes has to offer. The Presidium and Eleanor ranges present a modern range of large and spacious homes for those who love lots of space and contemporary and versatile layouts designed to deliver all the must-have key features that are typical for family needs, with pleasant surprises at every turn.

Hearty Homes continually work to improve floorplans as living trends evolve and are introducing the new Vogue range in the coming months. The Vogue range is ideal for those who desire living spaces to the front and

bedrooms positioned to the back of the home that still includes everything one can expect from a quality home. Plus Hearty Homes are launching two exciting new displays in 2023, so register your interest with the team to get your own special preview at their launch event in the coming months.

The team at Hearty Homes guides clients through the process; from finding the right plan and facade, arranging permits, and selecting quality inclusions to work alongside the site supervisor and tradespeople as it all takes shape.

The Hearty Homes “5 Step” process is simple – Choose, Modify, Approve, Build, and Live.

THE HAPPY WINEMAKER

Jean-Paul Trijsburg farms a Pinot Noir vineyard in the Ballarat region for his JP Trijsburg label. Sourcing fruit from many Victorian vineyards, he makes well regarded Pinot Noir and cool climate Syrah among others. Recently Jean-Paul was recognised as one of the Top 50 Best Young Wine Brands & Winemakers in Australia.

Working his first vintage in 2007 in Burgundy, France, Jean-Paul started out simply picking grapes but somehow ended up in the winery within a week. “I loved it and decided to follow my passion and study winemaking in France,” recalls Jean-Paul.

His love for French wines has led him to create his own. First making a few barrels after work to what is now a full-time business.

“I am lucky to be able to work together with Wayne and Bree Sharp who own a beautiful 30-year-old Pinot Noir vineyard in Ballarat which produces beautiful wines. It also happens they are the owners of the Yacht Club Ballarat Café. My aim is to always make wines true to their variety and origin – honest wines that put a smile on your face when you take a sip,” says Jean Paul.

Jean Paul’s wines can be sampled at the Yacht Club Ballarat or grab a bottle at a local Farmer’s Market or at happywinemaker.com.au and ‘put a smile on your face’.
