Step 1 – Cleanse  Get a wide tub or bucket and fill it with warm water. Add just the right amount of water so your feet are completely soaked.  Add olive oil or pure coconut oil to the water and soak. This helps in softening the skin around your soles. You can also add a few drops of antibacterial essential oils (eucalyptus, lemongrass, or peppermint) for a refreshing yet calming scent.  If you’ve run out of essential oils at home, you can squeeze a lemon in the water and we promise, it’ll work just as well. Submerge your feet completely and relax for 10 minutes.

Step 1 – Cleanse  Lift your feet from the warm water and scrub out the dead skin using an old loofah or a pumice stone.

Step 2 – Exfoliate  Exfoliating your skin not only keeps skin problems at bay but also helps in achieving glowing bright skin.  Blend some sugar with olive oil to soothe the skin as you exfoliate. Make sure to be gentle with your motions to avoid over scrubbing and damage.  For best results, add some baking soda to the oil and sugar mixture. It helps in clearing up tanned skin. You can also use tea tree oil for an antioxidant boost. Coarsely ground coffee added to the mixture will give you a soft and supple skin texture leaving behind a divine aroma of coffee. And who doesn’t love the smell of freshly ground coffee!

Step 2 – Exfoliate  The best part about a homemade scrub is that you can innovate. Be the mad scientist in your home lab and create a whole new recipe using your favorite ingredients and oils. Go all cray cray on the recipes, because you never know when you invent a billion dollar recipe!

Step 3 – Moisturize  Gently massage your feet all the way up to the shin using a dense moisturizer. Make sure you research a few acupuncture points to make it a fun affair and of course for enhanced results. Moisturizing will keep your feet hydrated and glowing.

Step 4 – Cut, File, Polish  Cut, file and buff your nails with a filer. All the basic tools required for this step will be available in your regular nail cutter. All you have to do is look for them  You could finish by rubbing a drop of rich almond/olive oil onto each toe nail for a natural shine and to keep your cuticles hydrated. You can skip this step if you wish to paint your toenails in the colour of your choice.
