The successful applicant should have a MR Truck Licence, and a Workcover Induction Card. The applicant will be trained in Water Treatment Plant Operations. LOCAL SPORTING CHAMPION GRANTS NOW AVAILABLE You can apply for individual grants of up to $500 or a team grant of up to $3,000 to contribute towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment for your participation at nominated championships. To be eligible for a Local Sporting Champions grant, individuals aged 12–18 years (inclusive) must be competing in an Australian Sports Commission-recognised national sporting organisation (NSO) state or national sporting championships, a national or state school sport championships or be a member of an official Australian team endorsed by an ASC-recognised NSO or School Sport Australia travelling to an international competition. Please note that eligible sportspeople can only receive one Local Sporting Champions grant per year. Candidates can complete the Local Sporting Champions application form online before their championship event. Culvert replacements – Savernake area. FLUSHING OF WATER MAINS Over the next 3-4 weeks, Council will be flushing water mains in Corowa. Residents will be advised and given 2 days notice by letterbox drop, before flushing works commence in their area. Residents are advised that exceptionally dirty water conditions are expected while this work is underway. The work will be done in the afternoons and the water is not expected to clear until the following morning. Washing of clothes should not be undertaken if the water is at all discoloured. Drinking water should be held in the refrigerator. COUNCIL MEETING Council’s August Ordinary meeting will be held on Tuesday, 21 August 2012 commencing at 9.00 am. Time is set aside in Council’s Ordinary meetings at 3.00 pm for residents wishing to make presentations to Council.
