PERSONAL TO my lovely babies Axel and Mia Doherty. It has been a long 9 months in which I haven’t been allowed to see you at all. It breaks my heart to not see the both of you and even more so on special occasions such as your birthdays and Easter. Not a minute goes by that you’re not on my mind. I know you are both missing your DAD and I ring you almost every night to talk with you and try plan days of fun together but some selfish person will not put either of you on the phone to me. I want you both to know how much I love you and miss you and I promise I won’t ever stop trying to contact you. Hopefully things change real soon because DAD needs you both back in my life. Love always Dad xx (Doc Doherty).

... Snippets Wednesday 31st October 2012 www.corowa.nsw.gov.au SLASHING OF VACANT BLOCKS Due to recent favourable weather conditions, Council has carried out inspections of urban areas for overgrown vegetation on both vacant properties and properties with dwellings. Letters have been sent to the owners of properties which contain overgrown vegetation requesting slashing/removal of the vegetation by the 25 October 2012 after which time a second inspection will be carried out. Property owners who have not complied with the initial letter will be sent a notice under Council’s Local Orders Policy. REMOVAL OF UNWANTED FRUIT TREES IN COROWA, HOWLONG AND MULWALA Corowa Shire will be commencing a free fruit tree removal program from the 5 November 2012, which will assist with the reduction of Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) in Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala. Landowners/Residents who wish to have their fruit trees removed are urged to contact Council at the Corowa office, Howlong Resource Centre, or Mulwala Civic Centre and complete a consent form, to be included in the program. In order to break the QFF lifecycle, Landowners/Residents are advised to remove all excess ripe fruit from their trees, as well as collecting all fallen fruit, and heat treat the fruit in a sealed plastic bag which will destroy any QFF maggots. The fruit can then be b disposed in the normal rubbish. Vegetables affected by QFF should be collected and treated by the same method. Do not compost excess or infected fruit and vegetables. Information relating to QFF can be obtained from Council’s offices in the three towns or from the NSW DPI website www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/ factsheets. For further information please contact Ian Singleton on 02 60338952.
