Major concerts featuring the legendary performers will be held on Friday and Saturday nights at the Barooga Sports Club while the Barooga Hotel will keep the entertainment going on Saturday afternoon. The Friday Forum will provide an unforgettable 'surprise' element, this year featuring most likely future stars which you won't want to miss. The performers will line up again on Sunday for the Big Breakfast to finish the weekend. The festival will also have trade shows, with retailers, demonstrations, clinics and workshops. There will also be a massive Saturday market at Lions Park and an art show at the Barooga Golf Club over the weekend.

Bonnie's talent coming to ski club Bonnie Anderson is a natural-born performer.
H
aving grown up surrounded by musical family and friends, including her mother who is also a singer, Bonnie’s childhood paved the way for her talents as she spent family time playing music and singing. When she wasn’t surrounded by bands and musicians, Bonnie also took inspiration from her godfather, world champion boxer Lionel Rose. In 2007, Australian audiences fell in love with Bonnie’s incredible talent as the then 12 year-old won first place in Australia’s Got Talent. Rather than get swept up in the media bandwagon and subsequent offers of recording and management contracts, Bonnie made the decision to put her future career on hold and ‘just be a kid for a while’. Bonnie is an incredibly focused performer with professionalism beyond her years, so in pursuit of her ultimate dream to be taken seriously as a singer-songwriter and professional
musician, she has chosen to forego an easy 15 minutes of fame in favour of focusing on the “big picture”. Like any artist, she has learnt her craft by watching the ‘old masters’ at work and has already shared the stage with some of Australia’s greatest acts including Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Vanessa Amorosi, Kate Ceberano and Kasey Chambers. In addition to her vocal training, Bonnie also plays both piano and guitar. 2009 was a turning point for Bonnie and saw her tour with Australian icon, Jimmy Barnes, as a backing vocalist. Now aged seventeen, the story is only beginning... Bonnie Anderson will perform live and free at the Mulwala Water Ski Club on July 7. For information visit www.mulwalawaterski.com.au and or go to Mulwala Water Ski Club on Facebook. Teenage singing sensation Bonnie Anderson. Photo: Charles Newbury (www.charlesnewbury.com).

ince their first acclaimed Australian national tour in 2002, the Grigoryan Brothers performances have astounded audiences world-wide. Slava and Leonard Grigoryan will be performing music from their latest album ‘The Seasons’. ‘The Seasons’, a 12 movement composition, originally written for solo piano by the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, has been arranged for two guitars by Slava and Leonard’s father Edward. This program sees the Grigoryan Brothers returning to a more classical setting whilst still pushing the limits of what two classical guitars can accomplish together. They will also perform a selection of their favourite pieces. This will include compositions from Brazil and works that display their improvisational skills. The Grigoryans have released several duo albums, completed Australian national tours and several international tours through Europe, USA, UK, Asia, South Africa and the United Arab

BOOK REVIEW
Fifty Shades of Grey By EL James
As taboo as it is tantalising, the first book of the Fifty Shades trilogy has caused a sensation across Australia, the United States and Britain, topping best sellers lists and sending readers into a spin.
D
ubbed by Amazon as “erotic, amusing and deeply moving”, the story centres on the relatively simple plot of young girl meets older billionaire and, as expected, the two embark on a romantic relationship. The twist is in the nature of that relationship as it becomes apparent the smouldering male lead Christian Grey has some (mildly put) unorthodox methods of expressing his affection, toward the young, very innocent Anastasia Steele. The reader is taken on a thrill ride through an unfolding world of kinky

sexual exploration, deep desire and ultimately a collision between control and surrender. While the explicit nature of the story may have some readers blushing, there is no denying the book is a compulsive page turner that is likely to have you finishing the first book and rushing out to buy the second, Fifty Shades Darker and the third, Fifty Shades Freed. Fifty Shades of Grey has caused an international firestorm and is the hot topic on social network sites and around water coolers everywhere because it is challenging, exciting and makes the red-cover Mills & Boon romances look like nursery rhymes. The best advice is to head off on your Fifty Shades journey with your eyes wide open - with an idea of what to expect and a determination to read it with an open mind. The blindfold will come later.
