bikeride The 2010 Great Victorian Bike Ride will be a touring cyclist's delight – winding its way from Yarrawonga on the Murray River through the Goulburn Valley and into Marysville from November 27 to December 5.
L
eah Chesney, Bicycle Victoria's Event Manager, said: "This is a great bike ride with a diverse combination of lakes, rivers, scenic roads and stunning mountain ranges." With only 5,000 tickets available for the event, she anticipates the ride to sell out again this year. "The event is a chance to slow down, discover some of the area's best kept secrets, as well as having a holiday with a sense of adventure," Ms Chesney said.
to do it under 30 minutes. His Grand Prix Hydro ‘Hyper Active’ averaged 137mph over 112km of winding river making him the fastest ever. The tough conditions on Lake Mulwala will be quite a bit
different to a river race; however he has many years of experience and is acknowledged as one of Australia’s best drivers. He will need all his skill as he competes side by side over four laps of an 1800mtr oval circuit with fellow
Aussies and international teams. In all, 10 Grand Prix teams are expected to compete. Now in its fourth year the Lake Mulwala Power Boat Festival is a family friendly water sports event with plenty of on water action. The
event also has numerous on-land attractions with markets stalls, trade displays of various outdoor leisure and boating equipment along with gourmet food facilities and wine tasting areas. The kids are able to witness the junior classes of power boating, the BIA Formula Future class of tomorrow’s champions and water ski and jet sprint boat displays, along with the riders from Whip Industries and their mad motorcycle feats. Witness all this and the World’s fastest automotive boats; the Grand Prix Hydroplanes do battle for the 2010 World Championship and the Blown Alcohol Displacement Boats chase the coveted Australasian ‘Marj Watson’ Championship. Keep the last weekend of November 26-28 free and head to Lake Mulwala, Yarrawonga. For further information and bookings contact Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism on 1800-062-260 or Cobram Barooga information on 1800-607-607.
