COROWA TIP Due to legislative requirements and the reduced available waste disposal airspace at the tip, it has become necessary to ensure total compliance with Council’s Environmental Licence. To this end residents of Corowa Shire are advised that putrescible waste is not able to be disposed of at the Corowa landfill. Residents are asked to ensure that their waste is managed by ensuring that putrescibles waste is placed in their 240 litre MGB for weekly collection. Also from this point on only waste generated from within Corowa Shire will be permitted to be deposited at the landfill. Victorian residents will no longer be able to utilise the tip. These restrictions will be enforced until the Transfer Station is operational.

treasurer and Loretta Wood as secretary. Mr Reid told The Chronicle the theatre company had a very successful year last year, with two diverse plays, Hotel Sorrento and Return to the Forbidden Planet, showing the strength of talent Yarrawonga and
the surrounding areas has. “Hotel Sorrento had great character roles and Return to the Forbidden Planet was a full blown jukebox spectacular,” he said. “There were many new faces to the company and everyone had a wonderful time; our audiences were very appreciative.” Mr Reid said he was looking forward to another Australian play, Opportunity Knocks to be directed by Loretta Wood, the first of two plays for 2012. “Opportunity Knocks is an Australian play about two lovely ladies from an opportunity shop and two saucy ladies with their exotic business and the interactions between them,” he said. “The second play for 2012 will be the American classic, A Streetcar Named Desire. Once again Allegro is providing diverse and challenging plays for local audiences.” Opportunity Knocks will open on May 11 in the Yarrawonga Town Hall and for more information please go to the Allegro website, www.allegrotheatreco.com .
