Yarrawonga Bowls Club

The club was saddened by the passing of Jack Kennedy last week. Jack had been a member of the club for a number of years having been made a Life Member some years ago. Although he had not been an active bowler for two years he spent some time at the club most mornings. Deepest sympathies are extended to his family and friends. A highlight of Jack’s time at the club was assisting with the opening of the club’s Centenary Capsule in January this year which coincided with the celebrations of him attaining his own centenary. Members are reminded that their fees are due and must be paid by June 30. Results of last week’s bowls are – 2x4x2 Monday won by S Smith and M Murray with B Hooper and B Blewitt winning the other section. Wednesday’s bowls attracted 24 bowlers with B Hooper, S Davey and W Zethof winning on the day. Marg Jones sponsored Triples on Saturday with 30 players; it was won by J Ellis, A Dendryer and L Murdoch, R/ up: N Millar, M Essex and L Curley.
