Still good fields for bowls, perfect weather is having a bearing on this, lists are still up for Pennant with starting dates in October - a reminder to ensure your attire is in order. The next 2 Bowls Triples all day event is to be on Wednesday, August 1, 4 games of 10 ends sponsored by R and C Hargreaves and R Ryan. A good day is assured with good prizes for winners, runners-up, and best last game. Results for last week were – Monday 16th, 2x4x2 with a good field of 24 pairs won by K Allender and G Polkinghore, the

other section was won by J and P Clancy. There were 36 players for Wednesday 18th the winners were K McQualter, I McBean and R Phillips with R McKenzie, V Muir and R Filshie runners-up. Medley Pairs on Sunday 22 is still proving popular the winners were D and G Luke from L Driscoll and T Edwards. The opening day for the bowls season is to be held on Sunday, September 2 for the B and W Owen trophies. Last Thursday, July 19 saw the last round of home and away games played with all three Mulwala teams playing at home. Both Mulwala 1

skipped by Joan Clayton and Mulwala 2 skipped by Wayne Dowsey were winners on the day, both of these games were hard fought with both teams coming from behind to win. Results: Mulwala 1 defeated Lavington 2, Mulwala 2 defeated Lavington 1, Mulwala 3 were defeated by SS&A 3. Next Thursday the semi-finals will be played at Wangaratta starting at 10am, it would be nice if some of our players could go to Wangaratta to watch and support our teams.
