David Williamson's Let the Sunshine Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre presents award winning Australian playwright David Williamson's Let the Sunshine on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30pm.
W
illiamson's Let the Sunshine is part Romeo and Juliet, part Meet the Parents. Toby and Ros are retired left wing radicals who flee to an upmarket Sunshine Coast seaside town to escape scandal in Sydney. Ros meets an old school friend Natasha, who is married to Ron, a hugely wealthy property developer. The connection between the two couples seems destined to be brief and acrimonious
except for one thing… When their children find romance together, the patter of tiny feet brings on the clashing of egos and then, in typical Williamson fashion, it’s on for young and old! Directed by Denis Moore, Let The Sunshine features an all star cast including Peter Phelps (Stingers), Alexandra Fowler (All Saints), Dennis Coard (Home & Away), Toni Scanlan (Water Rats), Ryan Hayward (Casualty) and Hannah Norris Tickets are adult $40, concession $35, group bookings for six or more $35 each. To book tickets contact the box office on 03 5722 8105 between 10am-4pm Monday-Friday. The cast of Let The Sunshine during rehearsals.

W
ith the event being held on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 and then again on Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18, one winery you should not miss visiting is Pfeiffer Wines. Pfeiffer Wines will have delicious food and wine on offer over the entire festival and is once again looking forward to being named the unofficial “pfavourite” winery. Visitors to Pfeiffer Wines will be enticed with a mouth-watering menu featuring a scrumptious savoury dish on both Saturdays and a spectacular dessert on the Sundays. On Saturdays at Pfeiffer Wines the menu will feature Leigh Hall’s tender, Middle Eastern spiced lamb served with fresh Turkish bread, a minted green salad and lemon yoghurt sauce which will be perfect with the 2010 Pfeiffer Merlot.
On both Sundays, Leigh turns his oven off and will plate up a deliciously decadent Chocolate and Pear Torte, with Chocolate Ganache, seasonal berry compote and lashings of rich cream. This will be served alongside the revered dessert wine; the 2011 Pfeiffer Noble Drop. Meal and food tickets can be purchased through the Rutherglen Wine Experience prior to the weekend(s) or directly from Pfeiffer Wines upon arrival.
The TAC
shuttle bus will be in action over both weekends with the bus leaving Pfeiffer Wines every half hour from 10:14am and the final bus leaving at 4:43pm. To keep those energy levels up, Pfeiffer Wines will have fresh Jasper Coffee available over both weekends.
Plus, with a
great selection of sounds to chill out, local muso, Dave Daly is back performing on both Saturdays and Sundays. So, do yourself a “pfavour” and include Pfeiffer Wines in your Tastes of Rutherglen experience. You will not be disappointed!

skimo Joe, one of Australia’s critically acclaimed, multi-award winning trios featuring Kav Temperley, Stu MacLeod and Joel Quartermain, have released their 5th studio album Ghosts of the Past that includes smash hits Echo and Love is a Drug. Their early EPs, Sweater and Eskimo Joe closely followed by their first album, Girl, struck gold in the hearts of many and saw them begin to really make their mark as an up-and-coming Australian band. Their second full-length album, A Song Is A City, went double-platinum with the single, From The Sea, often dubbed their anthem by public and press alike. Their first stadium rock album Black Fingernails, Red Wine, shot up the album chart in Australia and cemented the band on the worldwide circuit. Subsequent tours to the US, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands and the UK followed. Inshalla their next album landed an absolute massive rock song with “Foreign Land” and a collection of pop rock golden tunes to carry the band forward. Their most recent album Ghosts of the Past released in 2011 featured the dance inspired hit Love Is A Drug and new single Speeding Car currently hitting the national airwaves. “We wanted to bring our patrons a huge act as our headline for Easter 2012, one who has not played in this district and are current chart-toppers and Eskimo Joe fills that easily,” Andrew Buller said. “Their new album is just amazing and their past hits iconic. Black Fingernails Red Wine could be written about lots of winemakers, my fingernails are always black when working with red wine. We are very excited
belt out all their hits for their fans. “Everyone seems to love them – daughters as well as fathers, mothers and sons – they cover a wide range of music lovers and are red hot at the moment, they have their own unique sound and only do the biggest festivals,” Mr Buller said.
Bullers will deliver the four act show also featuring Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea, Beast of Bourbon, The Man in Black), exciting all
girl band Stonefield who have performed at Glastonbury and Big Day Out to rave
reviews, and emerging Melbourne band
Zoophyte featuring Andy Lee from Hamish and Andy fame. Early Bird Tickets are $69.95 (includes Rock
