Buyer's Guide

What’s not to love about the late, great Mickey Mantle? He belted 536 home runs, earned three AL MVP awards, helped the Yankees win 12 pennants and finished his illustrious, 18-year career in pinstripes with seven World Series titles. An unassuming ballplayer from Commerce, Oklahoma, he literally defined the American dream.

Mantle is the Cover Star selection from Love of the Game Auctions for our May issue of the PSA Buyer’s Guide, now in its fifth edition. The 1952 Topps #311, graded PSA 3, sports a beautifully centered blue ink autograph from The Mick that’s earned a PSA 10 rating. Beyond Mickey’s powerful presence on the cover, this month's effort features dozens of choice collectibles up for bid over the next couple of months from many of the top auction houses in the country. Other coveted items up for sale include a Jackie Robinson single-signed baseball (PSA AUTO 8) from Memory Lane; a 1954 Topps Henry Aaron #128 (PSA 9) from Goldin; and a 1926 Type 1 Original Photo of golf legend Bobby Jones from Man on the Rock

You will also find a comprehensive lineup of fastapproaching auctions followed by an up-to-date compilation of industry shows, where PSA and other Collectors divisions will be on-site, filling pages 14 and 16, respectively. As always, our “Supply Chest” page (21) is back with the products you need to keep your collectibles in great condition. From Cardboard Gold (perfect fit sleeves) and Card Shellz (Hero Diamond Shell cases) to Graded Guard (protective single-card cases) and Zion Cases (colorful carrying cases that hold up to 110 PSA-encapsulated cards), you’ll find all the protection you’ll ever need.

As you’re reading through this particular PSA Buyer’s Guide, it truly is a great time to be a sports fan. The 2023 MLB campaign is underway, the NFL Draft kicks off on April 27 in Kansas City, Missouri, and the NBA and NHL playoffs are already in full swing. Good luck to your favorite players and teams, and best of luck to you with finding your next great grail.
