Casey Johnson’s construction roots run deep. His late grandfather, RL Casey, and his father, Commie Johnson, were both contractors and worked together on many commercial and institutional construction projects, including schools and community colleges.
It’s not surprising, then, that Casey developed a love of construction and decided to join the family business. He and Commie started CJ Builders in 2005 and have since focused on the residential home construction market.
Over the last 18 years the father-andson team has developed a reputation for high-quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and a commitment to doing what’s necessary to give their clients exactly what they want in their homes.
Last year the pair decided to change roles in their business, with Commie stepping aside to pursue other endeavors and Casey taking the helm and setting his sights on further expanding the scope of the business.
“We’re still building high-quality homes, but I’m also focusing on devel- oping new communities in the northwest area,” Casey said. builder, continues to enjoy their dream homes while also of the residential market
Commie now handling the administrative details of the business also gives Casey the freedom to do what he likes best – being on the construction site and performing hands-on work.
“I like being in the field with my guys rather than being in an office,” he said.
“And, it gives me the opportunity to make sure things are done to the homebuyers’ liking.” more,” Casey said. “Plus, we’ve got a couple of spec houses in North Ridge and Treeline Trails in Stokesdale.”
Both Casey and Commie work diligently at providing top-notch customer service, and that means carefully listening to what their homebuyers want and being creative in meeting those desires.
It also means maintaining an excellent level of communication.
Along with the building side of the business, Casey is establishing himself as a successful developer. CJ Builders is part of the developer team for the Belews Ridge community in Stokesdale and the prestigious Pemberly Estates in Oak Ridge. The company is also involved with Honeycutt Reserve in Oak Ridge, and another new development in Stokesdale that will soon be breaking ground.
CJ Builders’ commitment to high standards has resulted in much success over the years and has propelled the company into 2023 on a solid footing.
