Board Changes, New Executive Director Are Announced

As we approach another exciting season the Board of Directors would like to extend our appreciation to two board members who have relocated for this winter season. Scott Chaplin has been a leader in this division, working as a trainer, clinician and examiner for PSIAW throughout the past decade. Scott has decided to remain in Australia this winter pursuing other opportunities. Jeff McCarthy has moved to Bend, Oregon pursuing other goals. Jeff most recently served as the Snowboard VP for PSIA –W. Both of these two will be missed. This is “bitter sweet,” perhaps bitter for us and sweet for the two of them. We wish them both the very best and I know that the experiences and their relationships within this division will last a lifetime. David Sutherland from Mt. Baldy and Robert Chamblin of Mt. High have been nominated and approved by the Board of Directors to complete the terms that have been vacated by Scott and Jeff. Both of these individuals are excited and have the time needed to make a difference to the board. Current board member Ken Mattson from Homewood Mountain will serve as the Snowboard VP this season filling Jeff McCarthy’s remaining term, which expires next spring.
