ONE SINGLE BLEAK TRUTH: NO ONE IS SAFE, NOTHING IS REDEEMED.
EDITOR’S LETTER To: My Gullible Readers, At a young age, girls establish dolls in their minds as perfect beings with exceptional physique and beauty. It is no wonder why we find young girls grooming, dieting, shopping and reading Vogue to achieve the tinted look of a Barbie doll. Well let’s just say what you think is perfect, is actually misleading. Barbie is a bloody psycho! The representation of women is gradually changing into something more and more erotic that questions the representations of femininity. The emergence of sexualisation, promiscuity and body exploitation has caused social anxiety. The increasing commodity of sex and its relationship with women in the media contributes to the rise of hyper-sexual culture in today’s postmodern society. Apart from that, women’s curiosity for power is changing. The reality of it all tells us women are no longer innocent species, or victims of gender, they are horrific murderers and con artists. This picture-based magazine reflects dark stories of REAL women that amuse by the unknown fanatical planet where psychotic Barbie lives and reigns. Serial killer Patrick Bateman from best selling novel American Psycho written by Bret Easton Ellis has found its partner in crime. An intensely hued dream reveals Barbie’s alternate psycho-pathological ego, which escalates to a series of deaths. In this world no one is safe... Not even you. Yes I am talking to you my gullible readers. This first ever issue channels the famous novel American Psycho from a young women’s perspective. There is no such thing as perfect, in fact the word perfect should be deleted from our vocabulary, because the Barbie syndrome has got all of you gullible readers disturbed. Are you a living doll, if so take a closer look. As Mr Bateman would say “I am a non-contingent human being”. Nothing is serious after all it’s just a shade of your ambiguous imagination, she is plastic. So next time you think of buying a Barbie, think twice! They are not pretty and one thing for sure, they are definitely not perfect, it’s all in your head L.O.L. Until next time, RACHAEL NTIAMOAH

I had all the characteristics of a human being-flesh, blood, skin, hair-but my depersonalization was so intense, had gone so deep, that my normal ability to feel compassion had
been eradicated, the victim of a slow, purposeful erasure. I was simply imitating reality, a rough resemblance of a human being, with only a dim corner of my mind functioning.

PLASTIC RULES!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
BARBIE IS IN A LEAGUE OF HER OWN “My whole philosophy of Barbie was that through the doll, the little girl could be anything she wanted to be. Barbie always represented the fact that a woman has choices.” Ruth Handler (Barbie inventor)
Barbara proposes viewers to consume a new vision of reality, which comically threatens the difference between the “true” and the “false”, the “real” and the “imaginary”, which provides new meanings of truth in her hyper-real planet. She is unapologetically all girl. But all that fame has gone to Barbie’s legendary coiffed head. She is a psychotic serial killer that still has fashionista fun since she broke into the fashion radar in 1959. She may be petite, at just 11.5 inches tall, but her wardrobe and her collection of knives and guns is anything but tiny.
ME, MYSELF AND I
I wanted to give him something to remember when he looks in the mirror but I could not help myself... Barbara Millicent Roberts also known as Barbie invited Ryan who is a singer and songwriter for dinner at her residence before executing him in her kitchen, because she was concerned people would find out about her scandalous affair she was having with him. After the couple returned to one of Miss Roberts houses in California, where they regularly met up to dine, and listen to music while boyfriend Ken was away. Ryan was dealt with six blows with a serrated kitchen knife, because she ‘wanted to leave a scar’. However a sudden change of heart ended Ryans’s life when Beyoncé’s single “Me, Myself and I” from Dangerously in Love album, began to play during first attack. The second attack led Barbie to mutilate the rest of his body. The body is yet to be found.
“It’s a powerful statement and one that Beyoncé sings with a grandeur that approaches the sublime. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instils one with the hope that it’s not too late for us to better ourselves. Since it’s impossible in the world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It’s an important message, crucial really, and it’s beautifully stated in this album.”
Sex is mathematics. Individuality is no longer an issue. What does intelligence signify? Define reason. Desire- meaningless. Intellect is not a cure. Justice is dead. Fear, recrimination, innocence, sympathy, guilt, waste, failure, grief, were things, emotions, that no one really felt anymore. Reflection is useless, the world is senseless. Evil is its only permanence. God is not alive. Love cannot be trusted.

JEALOUS & OBSESSED “There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference towards it I have now surpassed”. A young woman has thrown acid in the face of a friend while hidden in a pair of PRADA classic oversized black frames. Wearing ALEXANDER MCQUEEN’s double leaf crepe coat, with utility pockets, a waist belt and pleated back skirt with a pair of claret suede platform pumps from JIMMY CHOO. The Incident occurred because the victim once called her ugly. In the weeks that followed, the young woman pretended to give her victim a shoulder to cry on.

american psycho AUTHOR’S THOUGHTS
“Eventually everyone has to hit the dark side of life; someone doesn’t like you, someone doesn’t like your work, someone doesn’t love you back… people die. What we have is a generation who are super-confident and super-positive about things, but when the least bit of darkness enters their lives, they’re paralysed”. Novel written by Bret Easton Ellis, published in 1991, tells a first hand story based in Manhattan of businessman Patrick Bateman’s dark alter ego as a serial killer. American Psycho is about a world that is as alien to him, in which he creates his own fantasy, that becomes his very own sanctuary in reality. “I was writing about my life. I was writing about being Patrick Bateman – a young man in New York during that era – and being lost in that yuppie culture, which is really just consumerist culture. Feeling that I had to have all of the things that a young man had at that time and hating myself for not having them and hating society and not wanting to grow up. That’s really what American Psycho was. It was a very personal novel”.
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and A rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply a herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use a perfume lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturiser, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturising protective lotion.

THE CHASE
“...The streets are remote, unreal, the only sign of human life someone playing a saxophone on the corner of Duane Street, in the doorway of what used to be DuPlex, which is now an abandoned bistro that closed last month. A young guy, bearded, wearing a white beret, playing a very beautiful but clichéd saxophone solo. At his feet an open umbrella with a dollar, damp, and some change in it, unable to resist I move up to him, listening to the music, something from Les Misérables, he acknowledges my presence, nods, and while he closes his eyes, lifting the instrument up, he leans his hand back during what I guess he thinks is passionate moment- in one fluid motion I take he 357 magnum out of its holster and, not wanting to arouse anyone in the vicinity, I screw a silencer onto the gun. A cold autumn wind rushes up the street, engulfing us, and when the victim opens his eyes spotting the gun he stops playing, the tip of the saxophone still in his mouth, I pause too, then nod for him to go on, and tentatively, he does, then I raise the gun to his face and in midtone pull the trigger but the silencer doesn’t work and in the same instant, a huge crimson ring appears behind his head, the booming sound of the gunshot deafen me stunned, his eyes still alive, he falls to his knees, then onto his saxophone, I pop the clip and replace it with a full one, then something bad happens… …Because while doing this I’ve failed to notice the squad car that was travelling behind me, doing what? God only knows, handing out parking tickets?- And after the noise of the magnum echoes fade, the sirens of the squad car pierces the night, out of nowhere, sending my heart into palpitations. I start walking away from the trembling body, slowly, casually at first, as if innocent, then I break into a run, full-fledged, the cop car screeching after me , over a loudspeaker a cop shouts uselessly “halt stop, halt put down your weapon,” ignoring them I make a left on Broadway.”
This is true: the world is better off with some people gone. Our lives are not all interconnected. That theory is a crock. Some people truly do not need to be here.
i am simply not here
well... “I think you should know: I’ve killed a lot of people. Some girls in the apartment uptown uh, some homeless people maybe 5 or 10, um and NYU guy I met in Central Park. I left him in a parking lot behind some frozen yoghurt shop. I killed Ken, my boyfriend, with a nail gun, and some man uh some old faggot with a dog last week. I killed another girl with a chainsaw, I had to, she almost got away and uh someone else there I can’t remember maybe a model, but she’s dead too. And Ryan, I killed Ryan with an axe in the face, his body is melting on a stove in Hell’s Kitchen. I don’t want to leave anything out here, I guess I’ve killed maybe 20 people, maybe 40. I have videos of a lot of it, umm some of the girls have seen the videos. I even ate some of their brains, and I tried to cook a little. Tonight I just had to kill a LOT of people. And I’m not sure I’m gonna get away with it this time. I guess all I can say is I’m a pretty sick girl”.
