FESTIVAL REVIEW

on April one more edition of Oz Festival Happened! one of the most important festivals of Brazil. This year the event took place in a new location; with a beautiful waterfall! One of the most outstanding points is the fact that Oz is the only festival in Brazil that offer free water to the public, equaling in this point to European festivals.

The afternoon included a two-hours presentation of the band, which was super praised by the public. Further into the sunset, we saw also great projects such as Flooting Grooves and Solar Spectrum.

The Chill Out was located at the waterfall, providing moments of tranquility along with good music! The area received great projects, like Israel Lions, Unknown Reality, Dymons. Other novelty was the pause of the sound. Thinking about the well being of the pub“Oz Festival was really magical! lic, this pause The sound quality, the was created to beautiful view of the waterfall, motivate the and the special people!” people to hydrate, eat, take shower, rest, and prepare for the starry nights of the festival! The Main Floor had great attractions!

The night was also the best, full of magic and super presentations, like Ajja, Southwild and Yab Yum! On the 23rd, we had the 3 hours presentation of KoxBox, one of the best moments of the festival!

On the 20th, performance names like Zonka and Omsphere. The decoration was shining at night. On the 21st, it was time for national projects, like Element, Kadum, Tijah, Axial Tilt, Diksha, Whiptongue, among others. The 22nd was the best day! According to Defo, the organizer, he wanted this edition to be even more special than the last one! He thought “what would be more special than to bring Ajja?” So he decided to bring not only Ajja but his band, The Peaking Goddess Collective, too!

The night featured the presentations of Liftshift, Attik, Braincell, Rastaliens and Obliviant. The day 24th, was the last one, with presentations of Ganesh, Sonic Wave Control, Ekanta, Ninad, and Azys. The cultural movement had cinema with the movies The Doors and The Wizard of Oz, Yoga classes, dream catcher workshops, fire art, Hare Krishna presentations, Indian dance. Oz Festival was really magical! The sound quality, the beautiful view of the waterfall, and the special people. All these elements made me think and reflect, living a little bit of the magic. In the middle of so many information; sometimes we don’t get the basic, turn off in a few moments and get in tune with ourselves. Like Dorothy, the character of the movie Wizard of Oz, this festival is a journey to rediscover yourself.

DMT

Researchers claim

can connect you to a Parallel Universe!

Dimethyltryptamine (commonly known as DMT) acclaimed as the most fascinating psychoactive substance yet to be discovered. Found in the plants and animals of Earth, DMT exists everywhere in life as we know it, even inside of ourselves. Our familiarity with DMT and its chemical properties has improved, but there remains much to be known as to what exactly one’s consciousness is experiencing while the mind is under the effect of DMT, whether it be endogenous or professionally administered. In Rick Strassman’s book, DMT: The Spirit Molecule, he explores the possibility that the vivid, practically tangible realms visited on DMT may actually be our “DMT provides regular, repeat- consciousness ed, and reliable access to ‘oth- receiving acer’ channels. The other planes cess to a parof existence are always there. allel plain of In fact, they are right here, existence. Simitransmitting all the time! But larities in testiwe cannot perceive them be- monies given by cause we are not designed to the study voldo so; our hard-wiring keeps unteers suggest that there may us tuned in to Channel Normal.” - Rick Strassman, M.D. be some validity to this hunch. Each patient experiences their own unique journey with personalized details, however, the overall theme of the reports in juxtaposition was reoccurring: a realm unlike anything of this existence, encounters with intelligent entities, experiences of death and rebirth, unfamiliar sensations, ego disolution, and so on. In a correspondence between Strassman and

David Deutsch, British scientist and author of The Fabric of Reality, Deutsch expressed doubt in the likeliness of one’s mind actually connecting to a parallel plain of existence as it would require quantum computing. Quantum computing, based on our understanding, requires temperatures near absolute zero in order to take place. Strassman proposed that perhaps it is possible that increased levels of DMT in the mind could be the key to a yet to be understood, quantum computation of the mind that is able to take place in our biological structure. If it’s true that the DMT experience is actually a quantifiable displacement of one’s consciousness, then the answer to interstellar, intergalactic, even interdimensional exploration may reside inside of us. Perhaps with more of its secrets unlocked, DMT may play a pivotal role in humanity’s understanding of existence. A parallel universe is a hypothetical self-contained reality co-existing with one’s own. A specific group of parallel universes is called a “multiverse”, this term can also be used to describe the possible parallel universes that constitute reality. While the terms “parallel universe” and “alternative reality” are generally synonymous and can be used interchangeably in most cases, sometimes an additional connotation implied with the term “alternative reality” that implies that the reality is a variant of our own.

BAYER TO CREATING A MASSIVE SEEDS

G

erman pharmaceuticals and chemicals giant Bayer has won over U.S. seeds firm Monsanto with an improved takeover offer of around $66 billion, ending months of speculation after increasing its bid for a third time. While such deals appear to make good business sense to the companies concerned, for consumers they are potential disasters. Quite apart from the risk to competition that they pose - and the subsequent impact on prices in the agricultural sector - there is also a substantial ecological risk that Greens have

B

ayer’s announcement that it intends to buy Monsanto, shocked farmers and consumers alike. The deal could have a profoundly negative effect. Seed prices could rise for farmers, consumers could see more genetically engineered foods on supermarket shelves, and our global agricultural system could end up depending on just a few companies to meet a high percentage of the world’s agricultural needs. Even before these mergers were announced, the industry had been trimmed down to just six companies that control 60% of commercial seed and more than 75% of agrochemical markets. If all of the mergers were approved, those top six dominant companies would shrink to four, with most power concentrated in just three.

ACQUIRE AND PESTICIDES COMPANY. been warning of for years. Monsanto might be the favourite target of activists around the world (as evidenced by the many March against Monsanto organised all over the world), but Bayer, whose EU market share is larger than Monsanto’s, has in fact the exact same marketing approach: selling seeds of plants that are “highly productive”, but only when used in combination with pesticides and herbicides that they also produce. As Bayer CEO W. Baumann, told the Politico newspaper: “We have long respected Monsanto’s business and share their vision”.

There is no shortage of dirt in Monsanto’s 115year history for campaigners to throw at the deal. It had a hand in the creation of the atomic bomb, the manufacture of the environmentally disastrous pesticide DDT and the Agent Orange herbicide used by the US Army in the Vietnamese jungle, causing birth defects, for decades. The course of this Frankenstein merger is yet to be seen, but one can argue that this may be an attempt to mask Monsanto’s activities from the “all-seeing” public eye. Within the years of uprising against GMO’s, Monsanto gathered unarguably the largest activist attention out of all similiar companies. The only sure thing is that it couldn’t be operate any longer under the current circumstances. The brand has been irreparably hit. Seems like Bayer is it’s only hope..

Ozon layer

RECOVERing signs for the first time since 2000

B

ack in 1974, Mario Molina and F Sherwood Rowland discovered that the breakdown of CFC molecules in the atmosphere caused ozone layer depletion.

Later, in 1985, two British scientists documented the thinning of spring-time levels of ozone above Antarctica, prompting swift international cooperation which led to the signing of the Montreal Protocol in 1987. esentatives of 43 states concluded the Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer in Vienna. Although the members agreed to “cooperate by means of systematic observations, research and information exchange in order to better understand and assess the effects of human activities on the ozone layer,” the Convention did not specify how to reach the goal. Two years later, the international community agreed to phase out CFCs using a regulatory model which controlled both sources of production and consumption to cut CFCs. The International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer was proclaimed as 16 September in 1994 by the UN General Assembly. The day was selected to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer.

The theme for Ozone Day 2016 is ‘Ozone and climate: Restored by a world united’. It recognises the collective efforts of the parties to the Vienna convention and the Montreal Protocol towards the restoration of the ozone layer. According to a report by The Telegraph, researchers from the University of Leeds and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US, have confirmed the first signs of an increase of ozone. Science journal reports that some observations indicate towards the healing of the Antarctic ozone layer. It also “We can now states that the average size be confident of the ozone hole has shrunk that the things more than 1.7 million square we’ve done have put miles since 2000. the planet on a path to heal.” “The ozone layer is expected - Pr. Susan Solomon to recover in response, albeit very slowly,” the reasearchers wrote. According to a news report, the researchers estimated that the ozone-depleting gases peaked in 1990s but have been declining ever since.” It also claims that “the ozone layer is on the track to recovery. Without the Montreal Protocol and associated agreements, atmospheric levels of ozone depleting substances could have increased tenfold by 2050.” - F. World

The mysterious object was spotted for the first time in 1991 by Astronomer James Scotti from the University of Arizona and is referred to as 1991 VG. The object is considered anomalous given its strange rotation and longevity in space. Among the proposed theories about what 1991 VG is, there are those who suggest it might be an alien probe, space junk or even a small meteorite.

However, until today, astronomers have no clue what it actually is. Some experts have proposed that 1991 VG could, in fact, be a section of the Apollo 12 rocket, but Scotti claims the timings simply don’t add up. ‘We looked into all the possibilities for it being man-made,’ Scotti told Motherboard. ‘There were a few possible spacecraft and rocket bodies that might be 1991 VG. But when we looked into each, we were able to eliminate each of them.’ However, there are those who believe that the sinister object might be part of a secret rocket the soviets sent into orbit in the past, a rocket whose origin and purpose remained a mystery until now. ‘The Soviets had rockets as powerful as American rockets, were quite fond of covering things up when they went badly’ a Reddit user wrote. /|\ Read the rest at our website

10 Unusual Facts About Cannabis

A

re you bored of reading Colorado’s amazing post-cannabis legalization statistics? Did you come here to check out some weird and interesting facts about marijuana instead? Well, we got you covered. Anything from pigs and Shakespeare, getting baked to babies testing positive for marijuana, we provide these 10 weird facts you probably did not know. So, light up and let’s go! 1. RASTAFARIANS GANJA PRACTICE APPROVED IN ITALY Rastafarians as we all know, smoke ganja as a part of their religious practices. They believe that marijuana grew on the tomb of King Solomon, which gives it a holy status. A man in Perugia was sentenced to 16 months in jail plus a €4,000 fine for possessing 97 grams of marijuana. The Supreme Court declared that the court failed to take into account the man’s Rastafarian religious practices, for which it’s allowed to smoke 10g of ganja per day. Senator Maurizio Gasparri said “Today we learn a Rasta is free to go around with drugs. If somebody belonged to a religion which permitted them to eat their children, would they give them the go-ahead, too?” Classic argument, you should use it for any legal situation possible: “If people are allowed to ‘insert any triviality’, we might as well allow everybody to eat babies ...”

2. US TAX MONEY America and marijuana, we can’t get enough of it. Did you know that the US government is missing out on 28 billion dollars annually by keeping marijuana illegal? Imagine what all that money could do for humanity if spent wisely? It has been forecasted that by 2020 the legal marijuana industry will pump approximately 44 billion dollars into the national economy, although we still have to work to make this progress. The marijuana situation in the US is very important for Europe, because of the soft power (influential power) that the US possess. 3. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP AND MARIJUANA There is a clear distinction between hemp and marijuana. Hemp is a non-psychoactive cannabis plant. Hemp has been used for thousands of years for fabric, ropes, paper and medicinal purposes. Breeders have adapted the plant over hundreds of years to be used for recreational/ medicinal purposes and brought forward the THC genes. Jon Page, a plant biochemist says:
