About Us Lighthouse Ship Management (LHSM) is one of the key providers of third-party ship management services composed of a team of highly motivated professionals whose combined history in technical management covers a wide range of expertise in international shipping. We were established in close partnership with Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. (PTC), to provide efficient ship management solutions and total crew management services from a ship owner’s perspective. Our main strength lies in our human resources – the maritime professionals on board the ships and the support team ashore. As we aim to meet the various requirements of our principals and crew, we remain focused on the task of providing efficient and quality ship management services with a personalized and global touch. Our expertise and experience go beyond technical and crew management, as we offer other value-added services including newbuilding supervision and consultancy, asset valuation, vessel maintenance, inspection, and conversion.

We do this by empowering our people to deliver prompt, cost effective, and innovative services and to maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental care both onboard and ashore.
Commitment to Quality Statement and Services Solutions Offered Technical and Operations Management Technical Management Service To ensure that the vessels we manage are operated in a safe, seamless, and efficient manner, in compliance with the requirements of ship owners, flag state and class regulations, and in accordance with applicable statutory regulations, our technical superintendents oversee all the various aspects of the vessel and its operations including cargo operations and handling, provisions and parts procurement, vessel maintenance, budget management and control, claims handling, and vetting inspections.
We support continuous improvement in safety operations by developing a positive culture for the crew onboard. We encourage the ship’s staff to provide feedback by way of regular reviews for us to revise and regularly improve our systems in order to benefit all members of the team. As we pay close attention to employee safety and environmental protection without compromise to our crew and principals, we encourage reporting of “near misses� and share the findings across the fleet as a means of avoiding unexpected incidents and accidents. We develop in-house and customized Quality and Safety Management Systems to suit different types of vessels which are likewise certified according to the highest industry standards. Under maintenance and inspection management, we ensure that our vessels operate efficiently and with minimum down time by adopting software-based Planned Maintenance Systems, with our technical superintendents conducting periodical inspections and sharing the results with our principals.
Operations Management We remain focused on core functional requirements of ship management from an owner’s perspective by performing the following: vessel maintenance and inspection, regular monitoring of vessel reports to ensure readiness for any commercial activity, conducting regular on-board audits by the DPA, and practicing emergency response procedures.
Crew management including onboard and onshore training Our crew on board is vital in ensuring that the operation of the vessel is kept safe and seamless. We believe that crew management is an important component of ship management to ensure that the vessels are manned with crew that are equipped with the right qualification, skills, and experience needed to meet the requirements of our principals. We have partnered with PTC to leverage on its over 41 years of experience in providing crew management services including: crew recruitment and selection, training and continuous education, and career development and retention, including family support services. PTC currently provides a pool of over 45,000 crew members to 140 principals, onboard 1,200 vessels. By having a dedicated crewing team within LHSM based in Manila, we now have a pool of full sets of Filipino officers and ratings whom we rotate among the various vessels that we operate. We also promote cadetship programs on board our vessels to ensure a steady supply of future officers.

Valued Added Services New building and conversion consultancy We carry out complete supervision of new building vessels from keel plate cutting to the delivery of a completed ship. Insurance and ship inspection We carry out pre-purchase inspections and class record evaluations which are done to evaluate the usefulness of the asset in accordance to the principal’s operational and trade requirements. We continuously strive to improve the safety culture of our people by developing positive values through safe shipboard operation. We continuously monitor the performance of the vessels and manage the commercial risks our principals.

Effective shore support and supervision system We take pride in our effective shore support and supervision system which has the full capability of monitoring all onboard operations and proactively administering the needed technical support for the maintenance of vessels. Prior to the actual commencement of our duties, we conduct advance planning of all shipboard activities with the vessel’s management team to ensure cohesiveness of action across the entire group. To help us in establishing accurate ship management procedures, we rely greatly on our group’s vast experiences gained both onshore and offshore, in addition to relevant updates within the maritime industry. Lastly, we comply with the results of ship inspection and audit activities performed by third-party entities in order to maintain our service standards
