Everything You Need to Know About Requesting a PTE Re-Score You’ve spent weeks on intensive PTE online training. You’ve honed your linguistic skills, aced many up-to-date mock tests, and obtained your coach’s signal that your 100% PTE-ready. So, why are your PTE results significantly lower than what you expected?

You know that you performed well enough to at least reach—if, not exceed—your PTE grade goals. But, your results do not reflect this. So, what can you do about it?

You have two options. Either enroll in another PTE online training program and re-take the exam or ask for a re-score of your performance. This article explores the latter.

Key Facts about the PTE Re-Scoring Process Pearson accepts and processes re-score requests—despite the fact that scoring lapses are highly unlikely. Not only is the exam entirely computerized but it’s also computer graded. The algorithms and technology involved in the scoring process are definitely not prone to mistakes. Consider the following things before submitting your request. 

You can only ask for a re-score of your most recent test attempt.

You need to contact Pearson Customer Service to place your re-score request.

And, you must do so within 14 calendar days of the notification of your results’ online availability.

You’ll also need to pay a certain re-score fee. While the exact figure is not made public, it is definitely not cheap. It’s highly likely that it’ll cost you more than a $100.

The re-score fee will be fully refunded if any aspect of your score is changed. You cannot ask for a re-score if you’ve already: – sent your results to an institution – booked another PTE exam

Pearson only re-assesses open-ended written answers and spoken responses. These include task types such as summarize spoken text, summarize written text, essay, and the like.

If there are changes in your score, Pearson will indicate it in your online records. Administrators will also reissue your PTE Academic score report.

If Pearson does find scoring errors, there is no guarantee that your grade will increase. So, weigh your options well. Is it worth it to put your applications on hold for a re-score that offers no assurance of a grade increase? Or, is it better to just enroll in another PTE preparation online course and re-take the test? Want to make it so that you won’t even have to consider requesting a re-score? Make every second of your PTE preparation online period count. Enroll in one of JRooz’s PTE training courses to guarantee test success!
