ME about
I
f you believe that two wrongs don’t make a right, well then you haven’t met me yet; and unfortunately, that’s a shame. Well it’s alright now because you’re reading my portfolio and that’s the closest to meeting me at the moment. Moving on, I am an eighteen year old female student currently attending the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising as a graphic designer. I was born in California and have lived in California for all my life. I’ve met many people in my life and often times, I have been told that I am ADHD and OCD and it truly sucks to have both. Thankfully though, I am a flexible person and have grown to accept these faults. Many people shun others for being ADHD or having both, but I believe having the two greatly shape my personality. Being ADHD
simply makes me random and that’s a good thing because I like to keep things lively. Being OCD on the other hand, keeps me in order and consistent with my work. As a graphic designer, this is crucial because no one wants a designer who can’t create dynamic designs or someone who can’t stay within margin. What’s even better is that I’m flexible and that’s just seals the package. Put me in any kind of environment and I will adapt. I am not afraid of change and will greatly embrace it. All in all, two faults make a right. I know most people say that being ADHD and OCD is a bad thing, but when you’re a flexible person you learn to accept the two faults and make the best of both and that’s who I am. I am a flexible, ADHD, OCD person named Helen Truong. Get to know me because I’ll design your shit one day. u

TYPOGRAPHER BIOGRAPHY
R
**************** “One of the United Kingdom’s most active graphic designers. Pioneering the notion of graphic design with a social conscience, Barnbrook makes strong statements about corporate culture, consumerism, war and international politics. Working in both commercial and non-commercial spheres, Barnbrook combines originality, wit, political savvy and bitter irony in equal measures. Founding his studio in 1990 and Virus Foundry in 1997, Barnbrook is perhaps best known for his provocatively named fonts, such as Mason (originally released as Manson), Exocet, Bastard, Prozac, Nixon and Drone. The controversy surrounding this work stems from its subversive nature and strong social commentary. Barnbrook multi layers meaning and style – working with language and letterforms in an ingenious way. He uses advertising to reveal anti-corporate messages and exhibitions to promote non-commercial work. With an international presence and local impact, Barnbrook’s work is definitely of the times.” ****************
