moments in light a series of still life

for a very long time. There was a time when photography was expensive—film cost money and the development of that film cost even more. Those days are over and now, everyone can and does take a multitude of pictures. I have always been attracted to still life photography because of windows — an apartment on Horatio Street in New York City had the most luxurious southern light. Today, the light from the east comes in from a kitchen window and literally calls out. The iphone has made the simple image easy. These are things mostly found in my kitchen: a slice of lemon, an aging bok choy, a ripe tomato. They are mostly about seeing things, as they are, as moments in light.
