Ponto Zero

T

he representatives of Santa Marcelina College, Julia Guglielmetti and Grazi Cavalcanti, won the 5th edition of the Ponto Zero competition – a project made by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), developed by Abit in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), by Casa de Criadores (House of Creators) and by Mercado Mundo Mix, and with the support of Sinditextil – which aims to discover new design and fashion artists. The fashion shows happened A/W 2013 edition of Casa de Criadores. The girls competed with eight other finalists: Fernanda Quilici (Anhembi Morumbi), Denise Emy and Fernanda Sousa (USP), Daniela Passatuto and Camila Freire (Senac), Hanna Lucatelli (IED), Natalia Seim e Emanoel Silva (Belas Artes) of colleges from Sao Paulo, Leonardo da Silva, Juliana de Carvalho and Ianara Sousa (Estacio de Sa) and Thaissa Becho (Senai-Cetiqt), from Rio de Janeiro.

One of the judges was the English journalist Stefan Siegel of the website Not Just a Label, who, in his first time in Brazil at the invitation of Texbrasil, learned more about the Brazilian fashion: “Definitely, Brazil is much more than bikinis and caipirinhas. he 32nd edition of Casa de Criadores (House of Creators) was from 10 to 12 December. Featuring the A/W collections of 2013, the event took place in the center of the city of Sao Paulo, at the Grand Metropolitan, a space that was formerly a cinema and has been revitalized. The Englishman Stefan Siegel, creator of the website “Not Just a Label�, was invited by Texbrasil, to join the fashion show, which has focus in innovative fashion designers.

Texbrasil announces fashion blog

C

reated by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), held by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the Brazilian Fashion Blog is the new online space for dissemination of the Brazilian fashion in the web. The page makes a complete coverage of the Brazilian fashion, including events and releases, and it also comes into spheres related to the Brazilian culture, such as art, design, music and cuisine. Monitoring points out the most debated themes about Brazilian fashion

D

uring the year of 2012, within its strategy of intensified presence on social networks, Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program, developed by Abit in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) contracted the Scup monitoring service. Among the main themes monitored, it was the expression “Brazilian Fashion”, with the objective of assessing the main issues related to national fashion. It has been cited more than 2,400 times since April, when the monitoring started in social medias such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google + and materials indexed in Google.

The first most-cited theme – more than 300 times – was an action done by the retailer C&A in the store of Iguatemi Shopping, in Sao Paulo. The Mother’s Day collection was shown at the Fashion Like app, and the ‘likes’ for each piece in Facebook were updated in real time on the hanger especially made for the campaign. READ MORE

Qual Seal’s

Website has a new area dedicated to textile and fashion

T

he website of the Certification of Quality and Sustainability of the Textile and Fashion Industry, Qual Seal, created by Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – through the Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program (Texbrasil) – and ABDI (Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development), has now an area dedicated to the textile and fashion industries. Companies interested in obtaining the seal can search information, know certified companies and download a brochure with directions on how to start the certification process at Qual Seal. They also find information about specific capabilities for this purpose. www.seloqual.com.br

Linhas Bonfio launches new color chart

L

inhas Bonfio S.A brand, participant of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), developed by Abit in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), has launched a new color chart with more than 36 tones totaling 100 different shades of Helanca yarn for intimate apparel, fitness and beach segments. The color tones range from nude to shades of red, green and blue.

Patricia Bonaldi plans to open store in Middle East

T

he luxury designer Patricia Bonaldi, from Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program) developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), plans to open a store in the Middle East over the next 18 months. The city chosen was Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, where per capita income exceeds USD 60,000. “The investments should be in USD 400,000 for the opening of the store, which will take about 100 m² and around six and eight employees. The preview is to make USD 1 million per year”, says Luiz Morais, director of the brand, which already sells for Eastern countries since 2008.
