Beach Essentials The Great British summer is always some what hit-andmiss, so to make the most of those illusive sunny days at the seafront,, here are a few essentials to pack into your beach bag to keep you happy all day and sunburn free. The first beach essential is always a sun hat - sun stroke will always ruin your day or your evening, so keeping your head covered is a must! This beach hat is an easy DIY, so not only will you look fancy on the beach, but you can show off your skills too! Supplies -sun hat (like this) -ribbon or embroidery floss (this one was done with ribbon) -plastic yarn needle -fabric marker or pencil -scissors There really aren't many steps to this DIY. First, choose what word or phrase you'd like on your hat. Go for something fun and classic, like the phrase peachy keen. I mean, if you're sitting next to a pool sipping something refreshing, peachy keen is what you should be feeling! Now go ahead and use that fabric marker to stencil on your perfect phrase. Use the yarn needle to follow your pattern around with a backstitch. As soon as you finish the embroidery part, make sure you make a beeline to the nearest pool with a La Croix in hand. This is the final MOST IMPORTANT step in this DIY!

Reading material Improve your tan and your mind! With so many distractions, short articles or novellas are much easier to conquer at the beach, which is why magazines and short fictions are beach favourites. This summer, try picking up something inspirational, romantic or funny, or any genre filled with little tips or short articles or stories that will leave you glowing inside and out!

Sunscreen and Sunglasses We've all been taught the importance of sunscreen from a young age, which is why protection from the harsh rays is a must. Your lips will need sunscreen too, and after-sun moisturiser will revitalise your skin after being in the sun all day.

Every beach trip needs a generously sized carry-all, which is why finding and extra cute one is essential. Super durable bags made of sailcloth are perfect, plus they are lightweight and water resistant, making them the perfect beach companion.
