a brief bio on john woods, general manager of our partner hotel, the park on main.

When your surname is Woods, it seems only natural that you’d settle in the Nantahala National Forest. And though John Woods, Naval engineer, chemist/physicist, marketing genius, and resort manager, has traveled the world, stem to stern, he heard the mountains’ call, particularly, after he started a family. It was time to settle and nothing suited him better than the woods of Western North Carolina.

Contributing to his mountain calling was the fact that his parents lived in Glenville, NC. There, his family runs the local refuse business in nearby Cashiers. Along the way, John was recruited for many positions, including top resort management positions in the area. Because of his hard work and industry expertise, he was approached for, and accepted, a job in Key Largo, Florida. That was the turning point. He and his kids realized how much they missed the mountains, so back they came. Upon their return, John was appointed to his current position as General Manager of The Park on Main. Sometimes, it takes the realization of what you don’t want to do, to truly find the thing that ultimately makes you fulfilled. All his experience led John here, and he couldn’t be happier. With an extensive background in marketing, John is also active in bringing public awareness to the community.

“My managerial job at The Park on Main allows me to help guests by introducing them to local town events and happenings. Additionally, many of our guests are interested in local Real Estate. The alliance between The Park on Main and Landmark Realty Group provides a winwin for all,” John says.
