It was our favorite kind of weekend!
A double-header National and threeday weekend! BMX fans the Worldover could chose between Nashville or Albuquerque. This weekend was the halfway point in the 28-race regular season. There was plenty of BMX going on all across our Nation - as some opted for a State or Gold Cup race, while others stayed close to home due to insane gas prices and raced a local (or two). But judging by the one-shy of 300 moto turnout at Music City BMX, a whole lotta riders could not pass on this legendary Tennessee tradition! For the Pros, they got to chose between this race or the first UCI World Cup happening in Scotland. For those who chose wisely, precious USA BMX points were on the line - and plenty of Pros could make up some ground while the Dutchies were away. Nashville was Alise Willoughby’s first “real” comeback race, having mended from her injuries and surviving Covid. Up against Daleny Vaughn and Olivia Armstrong, The Beast scored her first two wins of 2022 and ensured us all that “It ain’t over yet!” In the Men’s field, Daylighteer Corben Sharrah was showing his years of 54

experience at the front of the pack and was the favorite coming in. Sporting his fresh new patriotic USAC sleeve, Corben would score Friday’s win with ease. But Aussie wonder-kid Josh McLean was all fired up for Saturday and scored his third win of the 2022 season; which enabled him to take the lead in AA-pro points away from Niek Kimmann (who was racing in Scotland this weekend). So far this season, Full Tilt-Radio’s McLean has made all of his mains except for one, and has podiumed five times out of nine mains. After racing (and winning) Pro Open at Santa Clara and Georgia, Rift-Tangent’s Nick Adams was primed and ready to finally take on the “big boys” of Elite. The Cartel was all wound up and Adams was feeling the pressure of competing at the highest level in BMX ... and he handled it well. After winning nearly every moto and semi, Quick Nick would go back to Nor.Cal. with a solid fifth and seventh place. Not quite what the Rookie pro was hoping for, but impressive none-the-less.
