Welcome to the most anticipated evening of the year for the pulmonary fibrosis community nationwide –Broadway Belts for PFF! With joyful melodies and heartfelt narratives, this 14th annual benefit for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation embodies the steadfast support and hope for individuals living with pulmonary fibrosis. We extend our deepest gratitude to the remarkably talented Broadway performers who graciously take
the stage in this unparalleled celebration. Year after year, Broadway’s brightest stars continue to answer the call, raising awareness and vital funds for the more than 250,000 Americans affected by pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung disease. The extraordinary talent of these celebrities is matched only by their kindness and responsiveness. Thanks to their tireless support, Broadway Belts for PFF! has become the Foundation’s largest single fundraiser. We are profoundly thankful for the dedication and commitment of Broadway’s very best. At the heart of this exceptional celebration is Julie Halson, the 2023 Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award recipient, and the visionary creator and host of Broadway Belts for PFF!
Julie’s boundless enthusiasm and genuine love for the PF community shine through in all her endeavors. We thank and applaud Julie and her stellar team – Carl Andress, Christopher McGovern, D. Michael Dvorchak, and Sue Frost. Year after year, they surpass expectations, delivering an unforgettable experience exclusively for our community. Tonight, we pay tribute to the Hales Family Foundation and recognize their dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with PF. Starting with the late Thomas Hales, a New York business executive who received a life-saving lung transplant after being afflicted with PF, the Hales family legacy endures. Thomas’s wife, Alice Marie, and their six
children, continue to be devoted supporters of the PFF. From spearheading the inception of the PFF Walk New York Metro, to playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the PFF Registry, and extending their leadership on the PFF Board of Directors, the Hales family has consistently offered steadfast support and unwavering dedication. It is our honor to present the Hales Family Foundation with the 2023 Ralph Howard Legacy Award.
