This season PUMA re-launches one of our back catalogue’s most staple indoor training styles, the PUMA Oslo. First born in the early 1950’s to hallmark the Winter games in Oslo, this trainer was the shoe of choice for athletes pre and post event. Updated in many guises since its inception through comfort and quality, we re-issue an early 1980’s inspired version featuring a smooth leather upper, toe-box protection via the T-toe suede overlays and a distinct notched tooling for greater stability and traction. No detail is spared as the year of original production and article number is stamped on the collar lining, whilst the trainer is signed off with the PUMA ‘Oslo’ branding in gold foil as per the original to ensure authenticity remains true.

PUMA brings back another statement 70’s Runner’s, the PUMA SF77. First developed in 1973, and continuing to evolve, PUMA reissues the 1977 version. The evolved construction of the shoe incorporated the introduction of an EVA midsole that was at the forefront of providing the athlete with supreme cushioning and lightweight features. The distinct outsole heel wrap and herringbone tread ensures protection at the heal strike and a solid, durable traction platform. Attention to detail is also key with a split tongue feature showing the exposed foam padding and the gold foil branding sign-off finishing this classic runner in true Archive style.

The PUMA products of yesteryear were stamped with a mark of above-average quality: PUMA Macht’s Mit Qualität. German for “PUMA does it with quality.” The PUMA Macht’s Mit Qualität collection refreshes that era of uncompromised product quality with modern twists. Designs fuse Tokyo’s progressive street-wear trends with traditional rugged performance – and protection- oriented subjects. Premium materials, exacting quality and design coupled with nods to military tactics and precision contributed to PUMA Macht’s Mit Qualität: a conflation of past and present translated into utilitarian design for the urban environment.

SUEDE CLASSIC The PUMA Suede is one of the brands most iconic silhouettes. The Suede’s heritage and timeless style means it speaks as loudly today as it did to the B-Boys and Terrace Fans after its initial release in 1968. Dating back to a time when suede was a revolutionary alternative to leather, PUMA changed the game and created a best-selling and enduring icon. BASKET CLASSIC LFS From the PUMA archive in 1971, the Basket was originally the leather answer to the Clyde, but the distinctive look combined with the clean and simple design gave this shoe instant entry into the sneaker hall of fame. The Basket Classic is built on the original Suede tooling and coupled with a smooth leather upper for a clean classic look, all combining to form a true PUMA icon.

STEPPER CLASSIC Taking on a form like various PUMA models of a similar era, the Stepper dates its origin to the mid 1980’s taking you back to when high tops and fades ruled the hood. From the PUMA archives, this mid-cut version of the Clyde became a rare and sought after classic within the sneaker community. TRINOMIC PUMA’s TRINOMIC technology was born in the early running boom days, when the sport began to move from track to street. This revolution first originated out of PUMA’s Natural Running collection in the late 80’s and resembled a honeycomb cell. This initial concept evolved and progressed into PUMA’s now famous TRINOMIC technology. The Trinomic Trail Collection is inspired by street wear styling fused with our iconic Trinomic technology. The rugged, trail inspired outsole features a hexagonal lug pattern and the Trinomic heel cushioning system. The upper is a mix of fashionable, highly durable materials, 3M reflective matte print detail and a Trinomic heel clip.

ZDC 82 The ZDC 82 is one of our iconic running models. Originally issued in 1982, the ZDC 82 was in tune with the Fast Rider, Air Rider and Trimm Quick running collection of the 80’s. The ZDC 82 silhouette was the ideal performance jogging and training shoe of the 80’s and was quickly adopted by athletes and joggers alike. The outdoor running shoe was known for its clean minimalistic upper, with its unique and aggressive rubber outsole tread pattern to tackle any outdoor terrain - now available in rich materials and vibrant sporty colour executions. TX-3 A technological running classic which was first introduced in 1987 and featured a 3-density wedge with blown rubber outsole, external TPU heelcounter, and metatarsal flex pad.

CAROLINE An original shoe silhouette re-issued for Spring/Summer 13, the women’s Caroline provides just enough 70’s styling to keep your vintage wardrobe in top shape. With their teethy-tread pattern and not-too-high wedge, it was a shoe born for sport but well-suited to hot pants and strutting around town back in their heyday. Proving that all things retro are back in style, the Caroline has been reinvigorated with stripes in the midsole and a hit of fluorescent colour pops. The nylon and leather uppers perfectly complement the mid wedge, which with the laid back lace-up detail and comfort factor make this a great shoe to wear all day long. SKY HI II WEDGE + ANIMAL PACK Inspired by the MIHARAYASUHIRO MY-66 style, the latest Spring Summer 13 Sky Hi II Wedge in-heel trainer fuses elements of both sports and fashion. Taking hints from PUMA’s Archive and brought bang up to date with this season’s Animal and Colour Block styles, ready for making a bold statement. The premium execution is teamed with distinct colour contrast detailing from the lacing, eyelets and sole through to the form stripe. The complementary hybrid of fashionable and functional with a distinct sporty look, the Sky Hi II Wedge defines the ultimate in sports luxe. Wedge sneakers are having their moment in fashion right across the globe, from fashionistas to sneaker heads alike, there’s no doubt this trend is here to stay.

CLYDE URB & GLYDE PERF In 1973, New York basketball legend Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, asked PUMA for a custom-made version of the Suede and history’s first signature shoe was born. The ‘Clyde’, as it became known, was lighter, came with a wider last for comfort sole and had Frazier’s nickname stamped in Gold on the side. During the past three decades, the PUMA Clyde, went on to star in a break-dancing circles, and prove that all-over suede sneakers look superb with fedoras and thick sideburns. The Clyde has been embraced by street culture and remains a timeless classic today. For this season’s execution, we’ve added a breathable perforated suede upper and features a low profile outsole.

SPORT-LITE Sport Lite Style is PUMA’s low carbohydrate, extra foam, no whip solution to street style. It’s driven by lightweight technologies and geared for social scenes. What it lacks in ounces it makes up for in edge, colour, and a general air of badass-itude. PUMA Sport Lite Style injects performance technologies (used for running, football, hiking) into lifestyle footwear. Modern constructions and foam compounds reinvigorate heritage footwear. Even standing still feels like something special. It’s a collection that ups the ante with less weight, more style.
