2 ZERO WASTE GARMENT
What is ZERO WASTE GARMENT? It refers to garments that generates little or no amount of textile waste in their production. Zero waste fashion is no new concept as we can always go back in history and refer to the ancient costumes like Kimono, Sari ,Chiton and other traditional costumes. Zero waste fashion also allows to reduce or actually eliminate the wastage in the design stage, in techniques used. A one very popular technique to be draping and the patterns through drapes do actually bring instresting shape and silhouette. Some more techniques like ruching, gathering, gussets, pleats, shirring , yokes and many more.
DESIGN ITTERATIONS
Zero waste fashion can be practised in various ways too, so we were taught an intresting way in which we all were given square pieces of paper and we have to make small little garments through it by the basic techniqes of folding cutting pasting and by giving a thought in joinaries. the excercise lead to alot of different and new outcomes that were quite interesting.
1 GARMENT GARMENT 1: I used the technique of draping i tried taking away the volume from side of the sleeves i added pleats and folding at the areas necessagry. and it turns out to be something different even the folds turns out to be the interesting element of pockets. and as a sustanaible technique i used selvedge as it is without giving that part a finishing.
2 GARMENT GARMENT 1: for garment 2 i here used the technique of locking as i just tried to used both the end of garment and lock it in a way that it looks like an interesting detail to the shape and silhoette.
THE PROCESS TO REACH THE FINAL STAGE
EMBRACING
