According to the Big Rulebook of Ogres, giants are supposed to stomp around the land terrorizing people and animals as they go. The Gift is something given, a present, a talent, an object, a transformation. The Gift breaks the rules of conventional theatre, it is an installation and a performance. Audiences enter a large box shaped like a giant present, sitting on multicoloured cushions and duvets.Action takes place on the walls and ceiling around them. Boxes open. Balls bounce out. Figures appear and disappear. Mirrors reflect and smiles connect. This delicate and beautiful touchy-feely experience is guided by a puppet angel who sings sweet melodies. Puppeteer and storyteller Ailie Finlay will bring along her big basket of puppets. Listen to her tell lively folktales, then dig into the basket, choose a puppet and act out the story yourself!
