Identify your

water system

The type of water system within the home will affect your choice of product and the performance of the product.

Please refer to the diagrams to help identify your water system.

Gravity fed

Low Pressure

• Cold water storage tank in the loft

• Hot water cylinder

• No shower pump installed

Approximately per 1 meter distance between the bottom of the cold-water tank and the point of outlet equates to 0.1 bar pressure.

Many Flova products comply with a Gravity system, so long as the tank is 2 meters above the point of outlet, eg. the shower head (0.2 bar).

Combination Boiler

Medium – High Pressure

• Combination boiler fitted for hot water on demand

• No storage tanks in the property

• No shower pump installed

Pressure is dependent on the type of combi-boiler plus mains pressure.

Combi-boilers produce a certain Litre Per Minute, ensure to check boiler output.

Water systems

Pump Assisted

High Pressure

Positive Pump: When a shower head is positioned below the cold-water storage tank, this is known as a ‘Positive Head’. In this situation, a positive or standard booster pump can be used. Please note, this is with the exception of our GoClick® collection which requires a Universal or Negative pump to be installed.

Negative Pump: When the shower head is positioned above the cold-water storage tank, this is known as a ‘Negative Head’. In this situation, a Universal or Negative head pump can be used. A negative head pump is compatible with all of our products.

Universal Pump: A universal pump will work in both positive and negative situations. All Flova products are compatible with a Universal Head Pump, including the GoClick® collection.

• Unvented cylinder with an expansion vessel
