PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT I started my career in relatively small offices in order to gain maximum hands on knowledge of architectural practices. In this time, I gained sufficient knowledge of detailing and design approaches as I could work on interior projects to resolution of crucial architectural projects. Commercial office of Elantas Beck India Pvt. Ltd, Pune, Maharashtra project was a turning point point in my career, as it gave me an opportunity to work with an ace designer Ar. Sunil Kulkarni, as well as I could be a part of an initial phases of design development to construction phase. In addition, project won almost all national awards of that year as well as few international awards. In RJBCPL, I got an opportunity to climb a step higher to Project Architect and work on projects which involved direct interaction with clients and site management. At this point, I could work on my overall management skills starting from time, people, drawings, meetings and client interaction. While, I had an understanding of most aspects of architectural practices, I felt the necessasity to explore design possibilities. I decided to pursue higher education and joined master course in architecture in Technical University of Eindhoven. One of the most crucial point came in my career, where I got an opportunity to work with OMA partner, prof. ir. David Gianotten as my graduation project mentor. His constant motivation helped me in finishing my graduation project with good grade and I feel ready to be a part of an internation office and contribute in design development which has been my strength.

THE FUTURE OF YOGA
“Bodhi- The Future of Yoga is a yoga center in San Francisco aimed at strengthening yoga ideologies in the region due to heavy influences of yoga practices. At the same time integration of yoga with architecture and space is another crucial focus element in the design process. The ultimate goal was to make a foundation place in San Francisco which blends with nature, body, architecture and in effect can bring harmony for person involved in yoga activity. Project was highly based on theoretical understanding of body as a subject and entire process revolved around integrating physical, mental and spiritual elements. Therefore, first part of the project is based on the research and second part is an application of the research and interpretation in architectural language. Primary design decisions were driven by core principles of yoga practices and how each stage in yoga reflects on human body, mind and feelings. Hence, conceptual ideas were mainly based on theoretical understanding, while heavily contoured site and magnificent views of the lake determined orientation of different centers. These individual centers were made with different properties which are associated with feelings and emotions as per location of each center in the human body. Therefore, centers are placed after one another in order to continue the journey from one stage to another. At the same time these centers were distinguished by placing them on different levels to bring individuality. The user group in each center is entirely separate from one another, hence no connection was established between any two centers. Sun and direction are one of the main factors in yoga practices, in which
yoga sessions starts early morning with sunrise and east is considered as most beneficial while practicing. Therefore, all the yoga rooms, pranayama rooms, mediation and chanting rooms are facing east. When all the blocks are juxtaposed towards east, the spectacular view of the lake opens to an individual room and makes yoga experience fulfilling. The journey between the walls involves primary and secondary path. Primary path connects all the centers homogeneously leading towards the highest point of the mountain, while secondary path starts from primary path leading to individual center which is enclosed by walls. This principle of arranging paths is similar to human body in which nervous system is a primary channel for energy transmission, while connecting network of veins and arteries are carrying energy towards individual organs. The path leading from each center and connecting next center is a journey and a feeling experienced by a person in his/her personal life. At the end of the journey there is discovery of a true form of each center, which is filled with abundant energy and providing energy to each person while practicing yoga.

2016/ Academic Project Master Project Studio 2 Mentors: Mark Hemel Barbara Kuit Masterplan With: Rukiye Galeli Jory Rijvers Tower Design: Individual
Concept:
Highrise buildings often have compromised relation with the ground and in many situations user loose sense of neighbourhood. The Garden City is a contradiction to this feeling, where outdoor space between two towers is carved to create gardens and visual connections. To optimise enough light and living conditions, building is split at an angle to get maximum sun light to the tower and especially for the central living gardens. Eventually the central gardens rotate to get sunlight at various time in the day and second tower facade eventually facing south, at the end of rotation.
Planning of the Tower:
The idea was to make both towers acting as one unit both functionally and structurally in order to achieve coherency. Both tower consists of 52 floors, while distance between two floor is 4m for all floor except ground and first floor, which are double height. The total building height is 220m and core for both the towers are placed in the center, which help in stabilizing the form. Primarily, there are offices and aprtments in the tower, which are physically seperated from each other to maintain different needs. Each user group occupies 6 floors of both the towers and are stacked on top of each other. Elevators to these floor are separated on the ground floors with different lobbies and entry/exits. At the same time, both towers are connected with bridges to maximze the efficiency of fire escape 9
staircase and other common areas. On every 6th floor, common gardens connect both the tower and create unique neighbourhood for users. This common space is an extended ground for users for their leisure activities. Along with connecting gardens, residential floors consists of gardens in the central area of each tower as well as external area of the tower. Central gardens are common activity spaces, while external gardens are used by individual apartments.

MASTERPLAN EVOLUTION
2016 | Master Project Studio 2 | Skyline Amsterdam
Masterplan Strategy: Concept of growing city was illustrated in the strategy used in this masterplan, in which organicgrid was planned along the main vehicular loops. These organic rods were pedestrian pathways connecting individual blcoks with each other. When both layers of vehiclular path grid and organic path grid was placed on top of each other, mcentral big green park was established. This green space was a buffer between highrise buildings along and two sides of the park opened towards sea. Boulevard was plannedalong sea sidewith recreational functions for users to enjoy freh air and magnificient view.
Massing Heights:
Heights of the masterplans were arranged according to functions and importance of each block with respect to the view of the sea. Office and corporate buildings are placed in the central part of the masterplan, which has maximum height of 80 to 200meter in the masterplan. While buildings surrounding park and placed in the second layer were plannedto be 45 to 60meter high. Third layer, which is next to the water has the maximum benefit of surroundings, hence most expensive houses are planned on the water front with low density and height between 15 to 30meter.

Offices and apartments are planned on top of each other with separate entries. Offices are planned on both the tower and connected with a bridge in order to simplifying selling the space to the single company. Cafe is planned in one of the corners of the tower on each floor. Four residential apartments are planned on each floor, out of which two apartments are duple and placed at the two opposite corners. Apartments are designed in four corners of the core and get the view of the four different directions, which avoids in looking into other apartments. Terraces in the central part and external part are planned on residential floor. External terraces become a part of the apartment, while central terraces are commenly used by people living in the apartments.

Sructure: Simple form of the building on the exterior facade is an advantage in making strong and efficient structural system. Central position of core in both the towers help in balacing center of gravity and can be identified as a most essential factor. Moreover, the idea of making both tower acting as a one unit played a significient part in function, which eventually lead to simplifiying structure. For example, connecting bridges on alternate floor connect the vertical columns on the inner facade, which are eventually supported to the core with a grid system. Cross bracing connects every sixth floor and wraps the entire structure along with columns, while making a strong structural system. Glazing is kept away 1m from the structure to simplify joinery and articulating architechtonic language on the facade. Bridges on top and bottom are connected with cross bracing, which eventually strengthen the structure and helps in stabilizing against wind load.

SWITCHYARD AMSTERDAM
2016/ Academic Project Master Project Studio 1 Mentors: Mark Hemel Barbara Kuit With: Menderes Yasar Federico Izzei
Project Switchyard Amsterdam conisits of master planning of the neighbourhood near switchyard for trains and second phase of the project deals with train station design in the region, eventually making a connnection with Westerpark. Brief conisted of three main aspect such as, giving a neighbourhood a new identity, uplifting connection between westerpark with new station as it is disconnected from neighbourhood due to train tracks and create a landmark with station design.
Masterplan Concept:
Masterplan design focused on pedestrainization of negibourhood, due to which main road along was made car free and traffic loop was diverted from other roads. At the same time tram route was added on this path to provide public transpot for people reaching for the station. Entire housing was raised on a plinth to make a distinction between public and pedestrian areas. Thus, ground floor of the housing facility is provided with commercial functions like shops, cafes, restaurants & daily facilities to keep the neighbourhood vibrant. In addition, housing masses are extension of existing axis road from old neighbourhood and entire tissue feels like an extension of old neighbourhood. Along the tracks, green boulevard runs continuously, eventually merging into the station.
Station Concept:
According to the brief, station should acts as a landmark and a catalyst between new neighbourhood and Westerpark. In order to do that, two triangles were connected with each other forming simple geometey and indicating con17
nection between two sides, while bridge undeneath acted as a physical connection between two sides. Simple & stong geometry of the roof made a stong statement in the neighbourhood. At the same time roof of the station was made homogenious with white concrete.
Switchyard Amsterdam| Master Project Studio 1 | 2016
18
The main focus of the new neighbourhood masterplan was to bring interaction beween new masses, which was lacking in the old neighbourhood. To create this atmosphere, all the masses were opened from one side to allow penetration and at the same time connection was established on first floors between these edges. Addition of this masses on top kept the homoginity of the block intact, while also helped in bringing interaction between green and the built.
Green Loop:
Establishing connection with Westerpark was one of the key aspects of the masterplan. Therefore, bridge was planned starting from axis road connecting main road and other end entering into the Westerpark. At the same time, green boulevard was extended until the station which eventually connected park on the other side and green loop was created between neighbourhood, station and park.

Station design was a key element in masteplan as well as giving an identity to the entire neighbourhood. Thus, the form of the building was extremely importatnt in creating stong identifiable shape. Many small scale carboard study models were made to establish form of the building, in which two triangles were joined together. While two sides of the triangles were established as starting and ending points of a bridge connecting neighbourhood and Westerpark. Furthermore, triangle facing the park was opened for day light for platform areas, where continuous strips of day light were made to create light patterns on space beneath.
Structure:
Main ridge connecting two triangles was a merging point for two structral systems in which V-shaped concrete columns were made to support the structure on outer side of the triangles. There columns varied in sizes according to the changing height of the tringles on both sides. Structure was designed in a way that, all the platforms and concourse were column free.

Reliance 4G Control Center (Proposal)
2012/ Professional Project- Architecture Company- Ratan J. Batliboi Consultants Pvt. Ltd. Status: Proposal With: Hlatun- Senior Architect Harshad Sutar- Project Architect Neha Purandare- Project Architect Sachin Pokhare- Project Architect

The initial architectural proposal for 4G control center is located in Reliance Teck Park (RCITPL). The proposal was comprised of NOC and allied corporate office to support the facility. The brief suggested that NOC could be a stand alone structure without any connection to other facilities. Definite mechanism needed to take visitor’s directly to visitor’s area and back, hence resolution on the entry and exit routes is a primary aim. Space matrix is provided for each department with size. The displays/ video walls need not be cubes but could be composed in a manner to suit the intended design. The concept is a fundament use of climatology. Complex has four independant towers which are binded by the plaza on the first floor. On tilting the blocks at 45 degree, pockets between the buildings open up to the south westerly winds which will keep plaza significantly vibrant. Building cluster keeps the plaza in shade for most of the time in a day for employees to take a stroll at any leisure time. Soft corneres allows wind to come in smoothly and unobstructed. The central administration tower with adjustant to the corporate office form a fluid juxtaposition of built, carrying horizontal lines on the facade to make it look homogenous. Design Genesis: The 4G facility is designed to cater to three primary requirements, control tower being stand alone facility, separate route for the visitor’s and employees and to make a landmark structure. The dynamic masses carry strong horizontal glazing lines and connects the independent towers at intermediate levels. The control tower was proposed to be an oval structure, twisting
at each floor to form a strong geometry and enriching the visual experience. Windows on each facade interestingly given a fluid geometry which helps in reducing the glare and direct sunlight. Terrace gardens on intermediate plaza levels forms break out spaces. Connecting bridges from the supporting facility and control center overlook the entire site creating a vantage point. As per initial proposal, the oval mass twisted on each floor. But after the client’s brief and considering the functionality of the space, the floor plate was kept oval with the central atrium. Four service cores are placed along the glazing with double height floor plates and central atrium adding to the visual connectivity. The ramp is a visitor’s loop at the central atrium, changing it’s location as per the control room and carrying life at the central space. The structural grid is placed along the internal and external glazing. Buildings and spaces impacts human’s behaviour, psychology and day to day lifestyle. The design interacted with both internally and externally, forming life within.

Staircases and other human carrying elements are places near the central atrium to enrich the visual experience. Floor plate profile at the edges was made to be slicker to make the structure more elegant. The visitor’s path was made to independent of the conrol room functioning with it’s entry and exits not hindering the day to day activity.

Building evolved from facing the internal road to nodal vocabulary after tilting the masses at 45 degree and allows the wind to penetrate forming shading at the plaza. Along the main road, site forms peninsula and hence, control room is placed at the tip acting as a site landmark.Important location in the corporate park and being the elite facility, 4G towers needed to be designed uniquely. After tilting the masses at 45 degree, south facade changes the position for sun rays to not hit at 90 degree.

The project site is located in Lab-3 & Lab-4 of RTG cluster which was originally planned as Laboratory complex in RCITPL. The core and shell works of the structure was 90% complete when both the structures was handed over to project team to adapt the space for new function of setting up a network operations centre for the 4G utilitiesand services. At the time of briefing the project programme was in nascent stage and the business group requirement was still under validation. The base-line brief by Owner was to create a facility conducive for efficient operations, future expansion and flexibility without compromising on its preventability as a business tool. The site is essentially two structures adjacent to each other, arranged as part of series of four near identical structures arrayed along the convex side of a curvilinear double height atrium. The concave side of Atrium is predominantly facing South and is the entrance to the complex. Each structure is a three storied RCC framed structure with typical floor height of 6m. The floor plate is 38m x 70m and was essentially laid out and serviced to function as a lab. Post juxtaposition of client brief & programme it was observed that an independent entry for Visitors needs to provided & independent link was to be established between the two structures. The fan shaped open space between two structure was the obvious choice for both additions. The Glazed side of the wall was reserved for cluster back office function & control rooms which require more controlled light was clustered along the solid/Opaque enclosures. The tie beam which was a potential eyesore in the double height space was at once adopted to be accommodated as part of the design concept which materialized as visitor
gallery. Since the building function and occupancy density has changed, appropriate fire exists were planned one of this was used as architectural feature also. The structure had a double height space which became the core of the spatial concept. The visitors are ushered to a vantage point at an elevated level and offered a panoramic multilayered view of activities in the facility. The envelope of this space is made of soft fluidic surface in the ceiling to emulate movement of fabric in open air. The walls are lined with acoustic material in a pattern vaguely reminiscent of modern built environment. The flooring creates a neutral background with subtle detail in shades and surface for sweeping arcs of console desks. The ambient lighting is achieved by LED down-lighters. Different lighting scene can be created with help of wall washers & up-lighters. The elevated visitor gallery has a backlit canopy with colour changers to play the ‘Jio’ colours.

There is a deliberate attempt to derive the circulation of visitors is in clockwise direction as per the design brief from client. To avoid overlap of visitors and operators route, accompaniment of operators bridge and visitors lift were added. Formatting the circulation for operators and visitors also involved different levels of accesses control, which have been considered and designed for. The ceiling of the central control room was envisioned as a very light fabric ceiling. The idea was to create maximum drama with minimum inventory and customization. To achieve this we worked with 4 modules of length 8m and 4m with four varying widths. Each module is a three dimensional and compilations of these modules create a dynamic, wavy ceiling. The fabric has an acoustical property which helps in balancing the overall acoustics. The ceiling makes a way for the hanger supports of the visitor’s bridge by means of continuous 200mm gap in the linear direction between modules. This gap also houses lights which lit up the entire control room. This functional lighting gives a uniform distribution of light achieving 300 lux. The vertical surfaces are treated with fabric paneling of four colors. The play of colors brings warm ambiance. The fabric paneling pattern was designed to complement the fabric ceiling. It also brings in order and randomness like the ceiling. This fabric paneling is a major component of acoustical treatment. Visitor Bridge is the continuation of the visitor experience and designed as a viewing gallery for control room. The visitor bridge cuts through the double height space at 6mtr level. It props itself to the existing concrete beams and columns. The bridge cantilevers out on both side of the beam at strategic locations and wraps around the existing columns to create views on both the sides of the bridge without gathering operator’s attention. The skin of the bridge is designed with strategically placed solid walls and glazing to create an orchestrated element of surprise. LED powered translucent fabric ceiling adds an ambient feel to the walk. The design intent was to enhance elements like Video walls, bright colours and console, where in floor plane is a backdrop. It had to be neutral in terms of colour, texture and pattern so that all other elements get absorbed in it with harmony. Grey colour adds depth to the space and the contest in finishes of the consoles thus becomes a highlight in the control room.

Elantas Beck India Pvt. Ltd. is a German company producing chemicals and has a manufacturing unit in Pune, Maharashtra, India. This project is a commercial office for managing directors and other management team supporting the factory. Since building is located in the industial setting it was important to create soothing environment to generate peace for people working in the building. This factor was stimulus in creating unique environment and helped in generating the concept of green court.
Concept:
The central space becomes the most important in the entire complex from a valley created between two rocky dwellings, carrying life, water and abundant greenery. Hillock breathes life into the otherwise mundane work environment. Thespace inspires and attracts interaction and contemplation. Hillock becomes a tropical forest, teeming with life, plants, flowers, butterflies, water, eventually overwhelming the architecture, but at the same time reveling the architectural vocabulary in a very subtle manner. Man, with anatural yearning to be with nature, revels n this space, also encouraging to give up the need for consumption and becoming a catalyst to life itself.
Circulation:
39
Thecentral hillock forms the main and the more interesting horizontal and vertical access in thebuilding by resolving elevator fae away. Thelift shaft is taken away from the main circulation areas. This was architectural effort at making occupants use the hillock to reach
other parts of the building and making it difficult ro reachthe elevator. After occupancy, study revealed that people actually prefer the lanscaped hillock to circulate and they also find it more pleasurable. This is the biggest architectural triumph in this structure as it helps save enormous amount of energy and at the same time making people interact and appreciate the greenery.
Material:
Concrete: Form finish concrete has been used as a primary material. On the east and west facades load bearing walls are formed using the material with very small openings to avoid low sun entering the spaces. The walls are folded intermittently to increase their strength without increasing the thickness. The inside of these folds are filled with aereated concrete walls forming a ventilated cavity, drastically reducing heat transmissionn inside.
Wood:
Wooden screens cut the direct sunlight on the south face. These screens have 5 adjustable angles and can be opened or closed depending on the available light.
Water:
The reflecting pool on the east sidecollects rain water from all levelsand terraces, finally emptying into recharge wells. The waterbody also has a calming influence on the occupants in a very cmpetitive office set up. All the levels on the central hillock look down into the water body giving repose to the work enironment.

CONCEPT SKETCHES
A rectuangular block stretched in the east-west direction, with large exposure to the north and south sides to drive diffused light nto the work areas with central circulation spaces. Large overhangs on south side and slightly smaller on the north sides shades the glass faces to avoid direct sunlight from entering the spaces. Addition of skewed block on the east side, indicating the entrance. This block on the dirst and second floor areas is occupied by managing director and CFO on the other side looking inti the factory premises and on the other into the water expanse. Thisis one of the most imortant spaces in the structure. The toilet blocks are consciously screened by concrete walls indicating private areas. Addition of second office block as per clients requirements at an angle of 13 degrees forming a wedge shaped central open space. This shape facilitates ‘ventury effect’ in the openspace, Thus collecting the heat in both the clocks and taking out from the roof. The central hillock is seperated from the two blocks to get light till the ground floor and also to facilitate ventury effect. Horizontal circulation happening rom the west side connector and east side bridges also connecting the lift shaft. The elevator is removed from both the blocks and placed into a beautiful waterbody. architect does not intend to directly tell people not to use the lift. It has been placed in the most vibrant place in the structure, but from their perspective work areas it is a long distance, also passing through the offices of higher ups. Result of this exercise is to make the occupants ise the central spaces for vertical circulationinstead of the elevator.

Therefore, each bedroom is occupied by different user. Colur theme was used in each room to give a vividness and generating mood according to the age of the occupant. At the same time, colours add beauty in dry weather of Indian cities. Living room is mainly occupied by all users and hence, organe colour was used for the prominent television unit as against dark colour of the veener. Upholstery was selected based on the similar colour scheme, sometimes constracting the original colour.
