Training & Conditioning Dan Ross, Adam Soldati and J Agnew contribute much of Purdue’s success to the strides made while training. The coaching staff takes complete advantage of the Boilermaker Aquatic Center, whether the team is working in the pool or doing dryland workouts on the mezzanine level. After weight training was moved to the new Sports Performance Center at Mackey Arena, the weight room at the pool was converted to a team lounge. The ability to train in so many different ways in the same building enhances the natural abilities of all three coaches and allows them to continually bring out the best in the Boilermakers.

The sports performance program at Purdue aims to provide a world-class training program to the school’s 500 student athletes, spanning 18 sports. With consideration of each sport coaching staff’s desires & the skills required by each sport, the sports performance team seeks to bring about improvement in: • Power Development • Mobility • Strength • Recovery & Regeneration • Movement • Flexibility • Speed

SPORTS MEDICINE & ATHLETIC TRAINING

Purdue Sports Medicine utilizes on-site daily care by the athletic training staff & team physicians, as well as consultants in orthopedics, dentistry, ophthalmology, neurology & other medical specialties in Greater Lafayette & Indianapolis. With the Mackey Project renovation, the athletic training area was expanded to 3 1/2 times its original size. It now includes the latest equipment and methods for: • Cardiovascular Rehab & Training • Hydrotherapy • Exam/Taping Tables • Private Doctor’s Suites

The facilities in the Drew & Brittany Brees Student Athlete Academic Center & the academic support services staff are available to help student-athletes reach their academic goals. NCAA Champions

Purdue has produced a pair of individual NCAA national champions. David Boudia and Keith Carter have each represented the Boilermakers as the nation’s top collegiate competitors in their respective events in a given year. In 2010, Boudia became the first diver in NCAA history to win a national championship in each diving event – 1-meter, 3-meter and platform. He won six NCAA titles as a Boilermaker.

Purdue has claimed 32 Big Ten event titles that have been won by 12 athletes and one relay team. The Boilermakers have had conference champions in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Individual Medley, 400 Individual Medley, 400 Medley Relay and all three diving events. In 2011, David Boudia became the first man to sweep the three diving events at the Big Ten Championships twice in a careeer

Purdue Olympians The Boilermakers have qualified five athletes & two coaches to eight different Olympic Games. Purdue is currently on a streak of five consecutive Olympics with at least one representative, a run that began with the 1996 Games in Atlanta and has continued all the way through the 2012 Games in London. David Boudia won two medals at the 2012 Olympics, a Gold in the 10-meter platform and a Bronze in the synchronized 10-meter platform. Current Purdue head diving coach Adam Soldati served as an official memeber of the 2012 USA Diving coaching staff.

International Competition In addition to the Olympics, Purdue has turned out athletes selected to represent their country in many different international competitions. David Boudia won Silver Medals from the 10-Meter Platform at the 2011 & 2013 FINA World Championships, in 2011 becoming the first American man to medal in the event since 1986. That same summer, Danny Cox was selected to represent Team USA at the World University Games, also held in China. In previous years, Purdue swimmers and divers have competed in the Open Water Championships, Southeast Asian Games, Pan American Games, Pan Pacific Games and Maccabi Games. Most recently, Vinny Donnelly & Luke Trimmer competed in the 2011 Open Water Championships and Lyam Dias represented Team Canada at the 2011 Pan American Games.

Alumni on Cliff Diving W.S. Tour Purdue diving alumni Steven LoBue (2004-07) and David Colturi (2008-10) have continued their careers by competing in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. LoBue finished third and Colturi fifth among the 2014 final standings to clinch berths on the 2015 tour. Both Boilers have been part of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series since 2012. Fellow alumnus Kyle Mitrione (2007-10) has also competed on the tour as a wildcard entry. A true international tour with stops in Asia, Europe, Mexico and the USA, the majority of the competitions are held along scenic coastlines and at lakes. Divers compete from cliffs 26 to 28 meters above the water. LoBue also won bronze at the inaugural FINA High Diving World Cup in Russia in the August 2014. LoBue
