Dear Sir / Madam, It’s been almost a month since our groundbreaking ceremony at the future site of the PURE Beach Resort & Spa - Foul Bay, St. Philip in Barbados. Guests of the groundbreaking were treated to a week of fun in the sun. Our official welcome reception was held at the Sugarlands Villa in Sandy Lane and provided the perfect opportunity to mix and mingle while listening to the sweet sounds of music from Jazz 4. At the official groundbreaking ceremony guests were shuttled in comfort to the official site, where they were greeted by the picturesque views of the Foul Bay beach coastline and the uplifting rhythms of the Barbadian steel pan. Management of the PURE Beach Resort and Spa turned the sod to mark the momentous occasion in front of an audience, which included ministers of government, members of the Barbados Tourism Authority and the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association and family of international reggae legend Bob Marley. For those of you who could not make it to the groundbreaking ceremony, we have captured some of the best scenes from the week of activities to share with you. Barbados is the island that keeps on giving and recently the Barbadian government announced plans to improve water services to the southeast parish of St. Philip. This is great news for our project as it means a new and highly efficient water supply to the Pure Beach Resort and Spa. Sincerely, The PURE Beach Management Team Beach House Sunset Crest, St. James Barbados B.W.I. Tel: 246.432.6648 Fax: 246.432.1324 www.purebeachresort.com

Groundbreaking Fantastic was the word for the week from those investors who attended our recently held groundbreaking events. Management of the PURE Beach Resort and Spa held a lively cocktail party and welcome reception at the Sugarlands villa in Sandy Lane. Guests of the event enjoyed local culinary delights, while being serenaded by the cool jazz sounds of one of Barbados’ best live bands Jazz 4, a quartet lead by Italian percussionist Mario Porchetta. These jazz musicians impressed guests with a combination of jazz and Caribbean music but also beautifully satisfied the requests of guests to play different songs ranging from Frank Sinatra to Lionel Richie. The fun continued the next day as our guests took in all this beautiful island has to offer with some opting to take island tours, lounge at the world famous Hilton Barbados or do some duty free shopping in the island’s city centres. In the afternoon with the picturesque Foul Bay coastline in the background, investors had their first glimpse at the location of the Pure Beach Resort and Spa. Minister of Home Affairs and representative for the area Adriel Brathwaite in speaking at the ceremony expressed how important the development would be for the parish of St. Philip and welcomed the investment to Barbados’ shores. Members of the management team and other ministers of government had the honour of turning the first sod to mark the official groundbreaking for the site. As part of our focus on sustainable living and environmental responsibility the team also planted an orchid tree signifying our commitment to the Barbadian people and preserving their environment. After a truly memorable evening at Foul Bay, we returned to the Sugarlands Villa for a fun-filled night of dinner and karaoke under the Caribbean stars.

Water Improvements In St. Philip Barbados is one of the most developed countries in the Caribbean. Despite being listed as one of the most water scarce countries in the world the island enjoys almost 100% household access to piped fresh water. Its no doubt then that one of the island’s main foci would be on ensuring effective management of this precious resource. Minister of Water Resources Management, Dr. David Estwick announced that the water system of the home parish of the PURE Beach Resort and Spa would be receiving a well overdue upgrade. He announced that new wells and reservoirs would be installed in the Parish in order to accommodate further tourism and business development in St. Philip. The management of Pure Beach Resort & Spa certainly welcome this initiative and put our full support behind this improvement.
